The fifth in a series of seven paintings.
According to Trump, a piece of chocolate cake seems more interesting and important than the name of the country he just dropped a bomb on. It almost seems like he, who proposed a “complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” then later issued a travel ban on seven Muslim countries, views Muslims as sub-human—Muslims are terrorist, and no Muslim has individuality or a life to pursue. This painting shows a hand stabbing a fork into “somewhere” the Middle East, a play on how Trump mistakenly said Iraq for Syria as the country they bombed and can’t seem to differentiate Muslim countries from one another. The mouth in the background symbolizes his desire to consume, with the United States facing it. The color scheme of this painting is green-blue with hints of brown and yellow—colors of vomit and ones we repulse when we think of food.
