And by JAL, I mean "John Ajvide Lindqvist", aka. the Swedish horror author who wrote "Let the right one in".I read another one of his books the other year, a short story-collection named "Paper walls", and felt inspired to do some Hans Arnold/Junji Ito-inspired illustrations based on the stories.
And yes, here's the titular story "Paper walls" ("Papperväggar" in Swedish)! It's about a boy and his cardboard box, spending a night in the forest...
Man, this was hard to shade with only lines (save the added screentones)... but I hope it doesn't look TOO scribbly.
