Overall, I do like the concept of this images. By putting the mermaids indoors, you are longer forced to draw them as being wet, allowing for more elaborate hairstyles and the like. Overall, this image is fairly well done, I don't see anything that strongly sticks out. (AKA, you don't have "liquid metal water" or anything else jarring off.)

The first major issue that I notice is that the red-haired mermaid is wearing a shirt, but her bare humanoid ass is directly on the bench. This might seem like a minor issue, but if she is covering her breasts, should be should be covering her posterior, and definitely avoid bare-ass contact with furniture. (I personally don't like the humanoid asses on mermaids, but that is an stylistic choice, and not a flaw per say.)

The mermaids seems a bit too small for the booth, although it might not be just an issue of relative sizes. Typically, a person sits with the back against the back of a chair. The depth of the seat corresponds to the typical length of a person's thighs, so that, sitting in a chair "fills" the chair. I think the bench seat might be too deep, and the table might be too far forward. If you attempt to on the edge of booth seat, you'll find that your body hits against the table.

Also, they appear to be at a 6 or 8 person table, but there are only 2 of them. Obviously, this not a flaw in itself, but it does add a bit of uncanniness, as it gives a "character is an empty void feel" like some early CGI films. Maybe cropping the right-hand size would help with that. If fact, I think the image is too zoomed out overall, as the characters don't take up much of the image. Or, another character at the table might make it look better, but that is fairly major change to the image.

The red-haired mermaid is shown in profile, and her hair blocks her eyes. Obviously, this isn't a physically impossible pose, but it looks like she has demonic red eyes, due to her hair color. Worse, it is hiding her expression. Typically, the subject should be looking in the viewer's direction in these sorts of images, but that needs to be balanced with the realism of the two characters looking at each other. On that subject, it looks like the blonde mermaid is looking at the booth behind them, rather than the other mermaid, her eyes are bit too far over.

The shading could use some work. The tail of the red-haired mermaid looks like it is in direct sunlight, despite being under the table. Iridescent scales look fairly dull in shadows.

Based in the tv trope "Five Races: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php… What kind of race would consider your merfolk, nagas/lamias, gorgons and your other magical humanoid races? They can be a combination.

I'd imagine what they'd be talking about, not sure if I should say.

I'm always open to suggestions. I think this one and Conversation are related, as they use the same models.
