I love th purple lighting on her wings, and the shadow they create. Did you use point lights for those, and how many?

This is very different to the succubi I am used to dealing with in FR, I note some real differences but aside from what I am used to, this is realy well done! The little anklet is a nice touch & brings your attention to the feet (sorry, hooves), She is not skinny, she is voluptuous, as all succubi are & the tail seems to be in movement. She is beautiful in a fiendish kind of way, has a mischievious, come hither look, those green eyes are arresting & neat little horns. The wings, well, what can I say? Marvelous! Great colour, the clothing is very well done & fitting for character. Love the ear piercing & pendant. Great background! What is she going to tell us?
bravo, a very well done piece of art!!

Glad you liked them! We be in the process of putting those words to images now for publishing soon. I'll let everyone know when that happens. I think she wants to post them in some drow groups but is a little timid about doing so because of subject matter.

Timid? Well, I suppose I can understand, there are some real old diehards around. I can let you know what to maybe expect? First, she would not give a damn about any males, love? No way, caring for her boy? No way! None of these, except, to fulfill her own agenda & needs. Now, you have said "like" Drow, but not the same in all things? You/she are the authors of these combined works, they are your creations, so they are, as you choose to create! You are not alone in this, others have put their spin on it. Dark Elf is generic, not copyright, you can do as you wish.
As for dark deeds/happenigs etc, drow fans are used to it!
I would not be too concerned, are there any other reasons?

Yeah we're familiar with the old drow grind. She does have some actual drow stories. We've watched the drow "personality" develope from the beginning when they first appeared in the game modules and were mentioned in the guide books as "do not exist" and "known in legend only" - the two things that fired up the fanbase imagination. Like most drow fans, she ate and drank the legend like candy until new management took the game system over and changed them. I think she's more concerned with the erotica part of the story, because when trying to be taken seriously on a professional level. There's near ironclad guidelines writers must follow if they want to be published by individual publishers, and new, unproven writers are held especially hard to the guidelines until they show they are worth the investment and risk.

Her work reminds me of Jet Mykles, That kind of genre, Jet made their own take on dark elves, creative license. She has put a lot of work into it, that is obvious, deserves to be taken up, or self publish like Jet?

Jet's one of her favorites. I know she'll be pleased to hear that. But we kind of influenced Jet as well. In Jet's Dark Elf saga (published through LooseID, LLC) she adds a red-skinned female elf [link] (posted as "Aeiri" on Sheezy Art site, Nov 6th 2004), the wife posted pics and info on a Drow oriented Yahoo Group site (that is now defunct) regarding a red-skinned desert-dwelling elf race that we created. It looks like Jet liked the idea and ran with it. We like the direction she took with that character because it leaves our creation plenty of breathing room when they get added into the story.
Self-publishing is a strong consideration. The wife has submitted works to LooseID, Ellora's Cave, Red Sage, Samhain, and others, but they won't accept this story because of topics used that go against their guidelines... and she's unproven as a writer. Her stuff has come very close to selection for publications (e.g. the CCNights: Cartel story [link] and an Egyptian story). From what we've been told a couple of stories actually made it to managing editors and the "which stories are we gonna publish?" table. They were rejected with some very useful feedback and direct editor submission invites, but no winners yet.

If I might ask, why not set up your own site & Publish there? Sell from there? Isn't this possible? (Interesting what you said about Jet & the red skinned elf)

We're looking at a few pay sites because of the built-in buyer base. Which also means making sure you have the minimum number of "new" pieces to post to make it worth everyone's while. Setting up your own gets you 100% of sales, but not near the exposure - until you've become well known and peeps come looking for you. Nov 4th will be our 3rd anniversary of being laid off and living off of disability, the unemployment ran out earlier this year. And jobs in the area cost more to drive there everyday than getting any income. But we're still trying.

I think that if people like it, they will tell others & it will sell, also you have the perfect venue here for "Previews" to lead people to it.
As for disability, we are both disability pensioners & know all about limited funds! Keep trying, persistance wears down resistance!
