Description
Name: Suriaj, the Mad King

As a young child and chosen Champion of his universe, Suriaj was forced to uphold his prophetic path constantly. The combined pressures and weight of his chosen duties slowly broke his mind. Robbed of his childhood, and mercilessly trained with little to no breaks, Suriaj finally snapped and took control of this power inside him, becoming a being of pure madness and rage. He defeated the entity overseeing his world, but went one step further, killing the emissary and becoming a ruthless and mad king forcing his subjects to act as his surrogate “family”, something he was denied growing up, until they ultimately disappoint him and are discarded for new “family members”. He thrives on chaos, feeding his obsession to disrupt order at all costs.

Artists Note: Another fun design for me, and actually my first idea for this story. I thought about how being a "chosen one" is such an amazing pressure put on a small child that realistically they would break from the stress alone. As mentioned, each character is an example of how power corrupts and I always felt Suriaj was the best example of this.

Also, his name is "Jairus", which I thought worked as a dark reflection of my lead.
