Description
Jesus Christ on a cracker. D8
I have put the bar up wayyyy high for myself with this one.
This just goes to show that I will spend more time working on something for somebody else that I care about than I will for myself. I spent 4 days on this, and I haven't gone that long on anything I've done for myself outside of animation (cuz hell that takes forever)
so, I'm rather proud of myself :B

Anyway, this is 's character Sequoia from the Unavisi world that her and my have made characters and stories for.

... and now I have to somehow keep making art this good.

~20+ hours, pencil, Photoshop CS3~

I saved myself some effort with those quilts, they're just textures, so don't go givin' me all the credit!

Great job! You really outdid yourself capturing a specific atmosphere in this and all the details are beautifully done. I love the different patterns on the fabrics and the mirrors

Her pose is well done also and she just looks gorgeous! Love it!

thank you!
the textures are always my favorite part, it's like those little chocolate shavings they throw on ice cream at restaurants (i'd say icing on the cake... but icing is gross to me)
it figures though that I'd make a full and complete image for someone else before I did something like that for me XD

I'm glad you like it Kat.
I really felt like I had to pull out all the stops for you, especially since you were the first person to actually commission me instead of just talking about it. So enjoy it.
btw, did you end up printing it out yet?

Holy crap this is amazing. The lighting, the objects, the pose.. Wow. Your extra work really paid off. I'm the same way, too -- I work harder on stuff if it's for someone else.

SecretWalrus In reply to Psshaw [2008-07-31 05:10:02 +0000 UTC]

yeah, it figures you know?
but then again, when i draw for myself I'm either focusing on a certain thing to improve upon and lax a little bit on other stuff, or I'm just trying to get an idea out and once I do I'm happy. Someone else? well then I've gotta go in with guns a-blazin, and use every awesome technique i know, otherwise i don't think they'll be happy.
i think that's what it is.
