And so do I! @,@ I haven't been able to draw anything decent lately, but I've been wanting to do some Beni fanart. You know, for THE CAUSE*? Short story: I was bored, this happened.But anyway! I don't get why no one seems to like Beni; he's the main reason I like those movies, even though he allegedly died at the end of the first one. Allegedly. Me, I like to think that, in lieu of eating him, the scarabs made him their king. It could happen! So, yeah-- spread the love, man! And while you're at it, maybe try and convince people that I'm not the only one who's allowed to think Rick/Beni is a good idea. Honestly. I got nuthin'. This is the closest word-type thing I've found, which I've deluded myself into thinking is a sort of pre-slash mix-up, though I doubt that was the writer's intent. This makes me sad!
*Wherein I and perhaps a select few others attempt to promote unloved characters and various unknown things. Through the medium of silly fanart.

Beni is actually my favorite character in the series! I mean, what would you do if a 3,000 year old Mummy asked you to join him in conquering the world? Especially considering that if you said no he'd probably reduce you to a dried up corpse. Beni did what most anybody would do.
Not a fan of yaoi but I do wish we got to see more of Beni and Rick interacting, maybe back in their French Legion days.

Sure, the Scorpion King may have the body of a scorpion, which you've got to admit is pretty bad ass, but does he command a swarm of flesh eating beetles? Probably not! Also, you know that after so-and-so years trapped in that treasure room, Beni's gonna be all blinged-out like nobody's business. You can't beat that mix-up.

Plus, you know he would've totally gone insane after all those years spent sleeping on piles of bling and eating dried lizard husks, or whatever else the scarabs managed to scrounge up for him. Also, he would be shrouded in live scarabs; he'd wear them like a fine suit.

Just about anything has the potential to be better than The Scorpion King. 2 hours of me in front of a screen picking my nails would be more interesting then that mess. Now I need tea to scald away the FLASHBACKS.
Also: I think I saw someone make a suit out of beeetles on TV. Or, tomatos. I often get them confused as they both taste good on sandwiches.
