This is the Data Analysis Lab of the U.S.S. Saratoga, the ship Captain Kirk commands in my AU Abramsverse fic. ‘A New Start’.

All information from the ship's sensors comes through the Sensor Control Room

The Data Analysis Lab's task is then to analyze and organize the data.
This lab is used by all Departments, both Engineering, Operations and Science and at least one person is always on duty here.

As a research survey vessel, the Saratoga's most important task is to conduct extensive in-depth research and analysis on an area after a larger ship makes the initial discovery. This is vital if a planet is being considered for colonization.
