Description This is a commission done by Agent-Cheshire This came out GREAT! As you can see this is my OC "Speeding Bullet" getting saved by Supermane. He made such a big impression on me that my cutie mark itself appeared as I sat in awe of him. Not for his power. But for his compassion. You can see my cutie mark is a mix of spider-man and superman. The best of both worlds I would say. If the spider stands for "responsibility" and the "S" stands for Hope".

I'm wearing a spider-man shirt because I've been a spidey fan almost all my life. Until recently I finally became just as big of a fan of superman. I used to think a hero needed to be relatable to be effective or entertaining. But that's not true. Heroes overall are supposed to be something to LOOK UP to. That isn't to say that superman isn't relatable (because he is) but the main reason I'm such a big fan of superheroes in general in because of the guy who helped shape the genre. I'll admit at times I'm moreΒ  interested in some batman stories from time to time (and batman is another great hero) but he's not my favorite in the same way Spider-man or superman are. In my darkest moments where I wanna cry and curl up into a little ball.. I think of heroes like them which makes my days goe by alot easier. You don't need a hero with complex gritty background (again Batman is still an awesome hero in his own right) to feel better. All you need is a smiling face and a hand to reach out to you. In the end it almost doesn't matter who it is. You just need a good person to help pick yourself back up. And that person is superman. Anyone can be superman. That's the beauty of it. The simple desire to do the right thing. That's what makes a superman.

Now I CAN relate to superman just as much as spider-man... But I get a "different" feel from him. He just makes things brighter. That is why Superman is awesome. You maybe a fan or a hater or just indifferent to him. But in the end? You will want a hero like him EVERYTIME in your darkest moments. Seriously I heard that some of superman's best books (all star) saved a person from suicide. Oh also this picture was inspired from when I saw this harseik.deviantart.com/art/Som… Again awesome and inspirational. Supermane is best pony/alien.

Seriously, both the picture and the description are pure gold(as well as helps further exemplify why Supes is best superhero).

And it's true. Superman is basically the measuring stick for all other superheroes to compare to.

Which only serves to further infuriate me that they turned him into such an angsty, dreary character in MoS and BvS(thank Rao they're doing better with him in the comics)...

Eh in my opinion I think even superman is allowed to have an angsty side every now and then just like everyone else. So long as it's written right and isn't the only side of him focused on.

True(though I don't really think the "Waaah, I'm an alien and no one understands me!" approach is the way to go), but I think the folks in charge of the DCEU went a bit overboard with it...

I understand. there have been better stories that handled that struggle.

Personally, I think that only really works for teenage Clark Kent, back when he's first discovering his powers and what to do with them, not adult Superman Clark Kent.

That works to. Or for a version of himself that didn't even get his powers or learn his heritage until much later.

Thanks man. I wanted to go for something more inspirational instead of action.

Excellent work! The artist sure did a good job at capturing yourself as the OC character, and with Superman giving you some inspiration.

I know right? The fact that Superman just being an inspiration made me want to be more like him. To the point where my cutie mark took shape from him. That's Superman's REAL power. By inspiring others to follow his example he is making the world a better place. The more people who follow his example become part of the solution and part of the "superman family".

I really like the sound of that you know. The idea that Superman is the embodiment of both hope AND inspiration, gives a whole different view as to how different Equestria would be due to his influence. If Equestria is believed to be ruled through the principles of harmony and understanding, despite the fact that there are still some similarities to our own world, such as everyday social and political problems, as well as a couple of dangers, imagine just how different it would be thanks to Superman's influence.
It would bring a phenomenal change of sorts.

He's not called the "Man of Tomorrow" for nothing.
