Aww, I'm so glad you like the drawing. ^_^ I'm happy you think I did them justice too; you never know when you're drawing someone else's brainchildren. :'D

very awsome
Aspen kind of reminds me of Cinder (legend of spyro) for some reason.

Artists -especially dragon artists- literally hurt with comments like that. Especially when the character looks nothing like the thing you're comparing them to. Artists don't want to hear comparisons and it's hurtful to the artist's creativity.

I did come across as a tad aggressive at first but as you said, you understand where we're coming from. I know for a fact all of my friends are absolutely sick and tired of their OCs being compared to other things. It's not healthy for us to hear it 24/7 and if anything just plain hurtful. The Spyro fandom has a hurtful tendency to do that a lot

im not saying the character LOOKS like her,im just saying the Dragon reminds me of her slightly...i supose its the deep emotional expression on the dragon that puts the thought in my mind.
there's no reason to take it so harshly
art can invoke all kinds of abstract thought including connections to other things, even if it is not apparent in the same way(or at all) between two poeple
Dragons are VERY prominent across all culture, both modern and ancient and with fantasy art they have been presented in just about every way imaginable,so it can be expected from time to time for someone to draw a comparison or be reminded of another character.
i have been told many of my drawings remind poeple of other things, and it has never bothered me.

Think about it this way, you're a young artist striving to create something unique and original -which is hard enough as it is- and then someone comes along and screams about how it reminds them of TLK or Spirit or Spyro -and now Wings of Fire but I digress-. It's literally hurtful to the artist, I along with multiple other people DO take it harshly and DO take it personally.
Regardless of whether you think it looks like something or not, it's better for the artist if you just don't cause I know for a fact this just kills them inside. I know people who loved Spyro and their OCs get constantly compared to Spyro all the time JUST BECAUSE they drew them ONCE. It's degrading and it's all people will compare them to once they see others doing it.
Just because it hasn't bothered you doesn't mean it doesn't bother other people. Consider another person's feelings on the matter for a second.

im not "screaming" about it..i was just making an observation
im sorry if it comes off to you as me criticizing the art (and the characters it portrays) but the the fact that i mentioned that the expressive face reminds me of another character is the wrong thing to focus on.
i adore this picture (like all of Seky's art) and find them to be very wonderfully inspiring characters in thier own right,my point was not to draw a comparison
you are taking what i said too far out of context.
you are treating me like i accused it of being some rip off.

I'm literally not accusing you of saying that the character is a rip off, I'm saying you should consider how an artist feels when saying stuff like that.

I fail to see how saying comments like that hurt artists is out of context. I'm staying rather in context. If anything you're taking what I'm saying out of context. You've been basically telling me that I'm saying you're calling characters rip offs when that's not the case.

its kinda hard to explain.
