A couple of years ago I began tinkering with the game 'Spore', and this is the first critter I designed/played a game as. His name is 'Alaerapi', which is Pairetorian, in fact, for 'funny little creature'. ^u^Just the other day, I decided randomly to draw him.
It was from memory, so he's not entirely accurate to the in-game model (for example I forgot that he had feathery fans on his shoulders). But I got pretty close! I admit, I actually went into the game afterward to make his markings look more like the drawing. They were shaped a little differently. 
I made a whole ton of critters in that game back then, it was addictive.
Maybe I'll draw more of them in the future; it was fun re-imagining Alaerapi in my own style. 
(Are the Spore screenshots okay to display here? I know deviantArt has some kind of a thing about screenshots, but I'm pretty sure I've seen people share their own Spore stuff around here before... o_o; )

Creating creatures in Spore and drawing the result in a unique way has always been a favorite for me. In fact, that was what got me into drawing in the first place, so I owe the game that for giving me inspiration.
That aside, the drawing is really nice, and the Spore version is pretty accurate!

yes poeple are alowed to display spare creations here,that is so long as they are the creators of course...there are even entire groups dedicated to spore stuff.
via the games terms and conditions,you are even aloud to take your creature pics (on the black background) and put them on shirts,banners and similar stuff.
do you just have the core game,or do you posses creepy n cute and galactic adventures as well?

yes,there are 2 expansions
"creepy n cute" witch is a parts pack
and "galactic adventures" witch is an extention to the space stage.
there are also 3 spinoff games
spore origons(nintendo DS),spore heros(wii)and darkspore(pc)

Spore was really awesome but quite limited in a lot of ways... I really hope they make a 'modern' version sooner rather then later, one that allows for large and detailed creations and is a bit more indepth... Messing around and creating creatures stays fun

I feel the same, actually... I like Spore a lot, but I can think of SO many ways to expand upon it, and not just in the area of designing critters!

I don't know DA's policy about screenshots, but I know a Deviant who has a truckload of screenshots (Like, print them all and they'll LITERALLY fill a truck) and they're still on his page. So, I'm pretty sure you're good.

It really turned awesomely, you did a fantastic work drawing this guy from the game, and the cool thing is that, I think, he actually fits with the rest of your charas. Excelent work refining the design.
