Semi realistic portrait of Mona from Genshin Impact.

I was excited to paint this because the line drawing was super sick looking, and after finishing 3 of my best painted pieces in short succession, I figured this would come out really good. It's not the worst but not super happy with how it came out, mainly the colours and looking overly smooth. The good news is that after making this I reflected on what was different with the 3 previous pieces I did and it helped me figure out what process I need to be following. Or simply, my work looks nice when I'm confident with my colour schemes and painting in the shadows and highlights accurately onto the flat layer. Then it's blend a bit to blur the paint strokes and make a little gradient. When it comes out like the above piece, it's more like I'm not really sure exactly on the lighting or colour scheme so I just throw out some highlights and shadows and hope I can work it into something (with my blending brush) that makes sense. Spoiler alert: that method is unreliable and surprisingly time consuming.
