Luffy and Pinkie are enjoying some king-sized cupcakes.Cupcakes fit for a king.
Or rather, fit for a future Pirate King.
I believe these two would get along so well. They have a lot in common, including the fact that they both have "D" in their names (don't forget, Pinkie's full name is Pinkamena Diane Pie).
This may, or may not become a series...
*EDIT* I decided that Pinkie was too small so I made her a bit larger.

I mean think about it: they are both happy-go-lucky, psycho, crazy, loveable idiots, they both can stratch, they both have Haki... Pinkie would tottaly be Luffy's favorite pony.

They do have a surprising amount of things in common...

-Doing highly illogical, but effective things in any situation
-Stretchy bodies
-Seems stupid and childish at first glance, but usually the first to figure out solutions to problems
-Curious about new and interesting things/characters
-Love for a good party
-Overly infectious smiles
-Tends to be optimistic in the face of danger
-Values friends above all else and would be totally lost without them

Oh, I can just imagine how the meeting of these two would play out.
Luffy's hungry, probably ate all the food in the ship as usual. His crew most likely forced him to look for food. He finds Pinkie, Pinkie introduces herself and then asks him a million questions. Then Luffy picks her up, takes her to the ship, with her still talking. He goes to Sanji and asks him:
Can you cook this?
mmm... Yeah, that'll work. A bit small though.
WHAT?!
Then she runs away screaming, Luffy and Sanji go after her, and it's not after a while when they finally realized:
Hey, wait a minute. Did she just talk?
Then he gets all excited and probably decides that he wants her to join his crew, because that's how Luffy is.
Then he and his crew most likely got in trouble with Celestia for, you know, trying to eat Pinkie, who most likely told Twilight and then she wrote a letter to Celestia. Then some other evil character in Equestria rises, as usual. Twilight and her friends go to stop him/her but fail then the Straw Hats come beat him/her, then they and the ponies are friends now, the end.

Anyhoo, yeah, that sounds like one way it could go. Either way, Luffy and Pinkie do share similarities that would make them really good friends.
