Evangelion cosplay is luckily still alive and well, though the series is over ten years old now. This was a gathering of the majority of Eva cosplayers at ACen '08. From left to right: Gendo, Asuka, Ritsuko, Shinji, Kaworu, Maya, Toji, and Rei.Great plugsuits--I guess they're vinyl, but they're close enough to the real thing to fool you. The attention to detail is rather impressive on everyone--even a relatively simple outfit like Toji's was excellently done.
Oh, and that guy on the left dressed as Gendo? That would be this Sentinel 28A guy you might've heard of.

nice picture. yeah I plan on going to Otakon if I can save up enough money and my classes allow me to go. I am going as Gendo, he's just such a cool character!
If I go I want to see if people recognize me! Anyhow nice picture of the group and their cosplays are wicked.

I would love to have either the Shinji or Kaworu entry plug suit here, they are both excellently done, you guys all deserve credit for keeping the spirit alive.

Unfortunately, it was a spur of the moment gathering, so I wasn't able to get a shot of Shinji and Kaworu. I can tell you they were great costumes, though.

Yeah? Well, *you* try looking all stern and angry and spiteful when you've got pretty women grinning at you and the Rei cosplayer gave you a hug not long before this.
(That and the fact that I was caught by surprise when the picture was taken.)
