i used leather. it wasn't really easy to sew, but it wasn't hard either.
uhm to be honest i can't sew with patters.
i just sewed the top like a short jacket.
and put the belts on the jacket. ^^

Kau was my favourite character too! but I watched the anime so I'm not sure what the differences are between the manga, game and anime.
