Lincoln Wheeler and MCF Big Bet
(this takes place while Kalum was still too young to be ridden)
Lincoln hadn’t jumped in a larger class in a while, and it was once thing when you did it at home compared to a place he had never been before. Belle had made it clear that even though Kalum was not yet ready to be ridden, Lincoln still had to ‘earn his keep’ which he supposed meant training the current horses, showing them, and more than likely selling them. Which was easier with some horses, and not so easy with others like Benny. He was a nice and equally as beautiful stallion. His dapples helped him stand out from the group that currently resided at Kinavara, and he couldn’t quite understand why Belle wanted to sell him in the first place. His kind qualities would make for some lovely foals. But here he was, showing him before being instructed to put him on the market depending on if the show went well or not.
The pair entered the arena, the jumps being intimidatingly large but the stallion showed no nerves. His determined but quiet trot led them to the center of the ring where Lincoln was to get a good look at his course before the buzzer rang and he was on his way. They started at a nice forward canter towards the first few jumps which they cleared nicely. Despite Lincoln’s hesitance the stallion went through with his job each jump at a time, enjoying the course and taking it all easily. Lincoln, a bit nervous, was a bit relieved when they landed from the final jump after having a safe and clean course. They cantered off, and when they were exiting the gate his eyes made contact with Belle’s who gave him a small nod as if ‘well done’ and looked to the stallion. She had some papers in her hand, which made him wonder if she had already sold the stud. He went in belonging to kinavara, and now he was leaving belonging to his new owner where Lincoln hoped to see him thrive just as much as he had just now in the ring.
