Thought I'd try doing one of these things for fun. And it was quite enjoyable to simply draw without thinking too much.1. Yes, the first ever anime I watched was the original getter robo during the late 80s when I was in primary school. I did mostly stopped watching anime during the 90s, so there's a bit of a gap in my anime-viewing life.
2. I'm not a huge fan of romance, but Lodoss I think was one of the main (and probably the first) exception
3. Breaking through the heavens!!
4 & 5. Pretty obvious choice
6. Signum from Nanoha (A & Strikers) - the closest thing to a magical girl character that I really like
7. If I'm in an anime, I'll make it simple to draw cause I'm lazy.
8. Plenty of action, or crude/slapstick comedy. Pretty much anything except romance drama and harem animes.
9. Don't watch much else in terms of western cartoons
10. Why should a pokemon do all the hard work, just to be kept in a cramped little ball by an obviously retarded owner?
11. BUNNY GIRL!!!
12. I have lots of favourite artists. Doesn't mean I can draw like any of them.
13. Let's see, we've had bunny girl, magical girl, school girls, elf girl, samurai girl(ish), what's missing? Oh, of course!
14. WORST.. POEM... EVER. Shakespeare would be strangling himself in his grave.

Yes, I get that basically from the "Nanoha StrikerS nano" 4-koma mangas.
Although I must admit I watch Nanoha mainly for the characters, as I'm also partial to Subaru (because she's Gaogaigar-tan) and Fate (because I like scythes).
And if you've never seen GaoGaiGar, well, basically Subaru's transformation is a direct homage to the Final Fusion sequence in Gaogaigar [link]

Well, Getter Robo originally came out in 1974 (although I didn't watch it until the late 80s) so most people are unlikely to have seen it.
Plus, the animes I like aren't exactly the ones most people watch.

Nice... I like 80's anime too ^^ but my first one was Mazinger Z ^^ I didn't get to see the Getter Robot series... I only saw him in one of the Mazinger movies where Great Mazinger would team up with Grandizer and Getter Robot G O.o

I'm the opposite, I haven't actually seen Mazinger (well, only bits of it). But I have seen the movies you're talking about

Well, I don't know about getter robot but at least Great Mazinger and Grandizer do belong to the same universe. The Grandizer series comes after the Great Mazinger series (which ones after the Mazinger Z series). I suppose Getter Robot also belongs there along with some other Go Nagai series like DevilMan (who also appeared in a movie with Mazinger).

Oh, I see. I suppose there are some similarities in the design and colour scheme between Grandizer and Mazinger. That explains it.
I'm not sure about which universe getter robo belongs in, but it sure has had quite a few incarnations as well (G, Go, Neo, Armageddon)

Well, the Mazinger series are like Mazinger > Great Mazinger > Grandizer in the movies where Getter Robot G appears it's during the Grandizer series. Also... wasn't there Shin Getter Robot or something? I also like Kotetsu Jeeg known as "El Vengador" in spanish. They use some of the Mazinger background music on this one.

And I'm pretty sure Koutetsu Jeeg is also another Go Nagai creation, just like Getter Robo, Mazinger, and Devilman. Btw, Have you seen the remake of Jeeg that aired last year?

Well maybe... since they are all together in the introduction video for Mazinkaiser... you know... this one [link] . I've not seen the remake of Jeeg or the remake of Gaiking (I heard they are both sequels actually). I gotta download those... O.o

As for the remakes, Jeeg's kind of a sequel, but gaiking's pretty much a remake.

Well, that video is actually a teaser of the Mazinkaiser OVAs... only Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger and Mazinkaiser appear. It's a short series of around 8 episodes or something. I got all episodes. I read somewhere that both jeeg and gaiking take places after their original series.
