I used to be soooooo scared of darkness when I was a child (ok I still am but not that badly lol) and one thing that was always the most horrifying experience was that when you had to put the lights off and go upstairs after that. I always had the feeling that someone or something was following me and I still hate all those old wooden stairs that creak while you climb them.
