This isn't my design. The Maxx was designed by Sam Kieth. I worked on the MTV Animated series. The Maxx still shows up in my sketchbook occasionally even though the work was done on the series 14 years ago.

That was my first gig in animation....in....um......'94......I thought all animation was going to be like that because Spawn was about to come out and Aeon Flux was going into it's 3rd season. Now I know how rare a job that was. Since then I've mostly worked in Prime-time animation because that's where the money trail led. I won't say that it's easy because it's not and I struggle daily on whether I'm an Artist or a Craftsman. It's like I have creative schizophrenia sometimes because my personal work is so different from the professional work. I'm hoping soon to be able to get paid to draw the way I naturally draw. Not that the drawings I do for animation are like pulling teeth because I have a lot of fun and that's part of me too. I'm rambling. I just wanted to throw out there that even as a full time professional artist I have the same feelings that you're having now. I don't think it goes away. I think it's what makes us artists. My favorite new phrase about artists is that it's not so much a career path as much as it is a mental condition.
