Well, this picture was inspired by the thought of the night before the fight that would decide the fate of the world.

The plot for this picture goes as follows: (Takes place after Zuko joins the gaang) Zuko is looking out at the sea and he silently thinks about the war between his father that is going to transpire tomorrow. Zuko knows he will most likely die in this battle and is contemplating back on his life when Katara sits next to him after everyone else has fallen asleep.

Katara is still a little bit upset over everything he's done to her in the cave, but she realized how much he went through and how truly apologetic he was. Katara begins to think about the battle that will take place as well. She also ponders on what might happen and how this may be the last time she might see the Prince alive.

Tears immedietely spill from her eyes as she recalls all of the wasted time that she should have told him she loved him even when she swore she wouldn't. Zuko quickly realizes why she started crying and without blinking, he takes her into his arms. She cradles in his lap, still crying, as a soft 'I love you...' spills from her lips.

Zuko stays silent as his eyes rise up to gaze upon the ocean. He still can't say those words his heart keeps screaming at him to say. As much as he loves her in return, he doesn't open his lips to say it. Instead, he strokes her hair and silently enjoys the last night they may ever be together.

Yes, I know this sounds a bit tragic, but after looking at this picture and how it represents the night before a bloody battle, it kind of fit.

Well, this is not really the plot I intended as I was drawing this, and it still has some holes in it, but this is part of it I remember and stuff I added to fill in a couple of gaps.

The picture itself came together quite nicely and the only thing I don't like about it is that the sky is too light. It's supposed to be about midnight, but I couldn't get the color right unless I wanted to redo the entire picture again. I also love how Katara's tears came out. They're sparkly.

Well, 'The Puppermaster' airs in 3 hours! As always Zutara Forever!
