Description The original character belongs to Blazblue. This is the first and one of a kind, custom fan made Noel plushie.
12inch tall.

time to complete: 40 hrs of work stretched over a month.

The face and various parts of the garments are hand painted with 3 different types of fabric paint, all compatible with the fabric and tested for water proof. The paint I use is set with iron heat so it's permanent. But like anything else, if over washed/over exposure to the elements/ or rough playing may cause fading. Main fabric used are micro suede and velvet.

Darn, I just hope that it was licensed. It looks better than official ones, so I just assumed...

Yeah. Official plushies are made to be mass produced so they usually look fairly simple. I think I saw a vocaloid plush for like $60 that is official. It's got pretty nice details.

Please tell me you can teach me to make one of these for myself. Like you don't understand how much I want one of these.

Sure I can tell you but then you'd have to be my slave and help me make plushies forever muahaha. jk . I did personally teach one person how to make a piggy plush. But that's another story. Sorry this plush is so freaken complicated and painful to make. There are a few plush tutorials out there. I can tell you that the body is made of suede, The eyes are hand painted with fabric paint, you have to understand a little bit about pattern making which requires a bit of measureing and drawing trial and error. You have to be comfortable using a needle and thread and sewing machine. And focus focus, then take many breaks and admire. Until tada plushie. My first plush was a bear. check my bear tutorial, it will give you some hints on how to get started.

Ohhh this is so cute! The face especially. Wow you really have researched all the paints and such! How did you find out which ones worked? Lots of trial and error on test pieces? ^_^;;

Yeah I usually test out the paint on a sample piece of fabric before I paint it on the actual face.

Ahhh a Noel plushie~!
She looks so adorable and the details are amazing. Even if there ever was an "official" plush made, this would definitely top it imo.
I-I'm going to try winning that auction. (:

My bf is trying to get me back into taking commissions on plushies again. If I wasn't such a perfectionist, maybe I could make something a little more simplistic so they could be sold faster. What do you think a fair price would be for a plushie?

d-shade In reply to sewcuteplushies [2009-12-13 19:11:19 +0000 UTC]

hmm that would be hard to say.. it would really depend on the size and detail of the plushie..
I personally would spend up to about $50 on a plushie I find at a store.. To have one made for me then I am not sure..
I would prob wouldn't mind paying up to about $80+material costs.

Sounds about right . I'm still trying to find ways to make the sewing process faster without losing quality or detail so I can sell them for less.

I don't know the character myself, but the plush is beautifully made! I love the shiny blue fabric you used, and the hand painted details are stunning and so professional looking. I hope you get a good amount of money for it, it's clear how much work you really put into this.
