how did you do the embroadering? (the stitches that attach the mouth and eyes)

I use a satin stitch :] that's a really wide and really short zigzag stitch around the edges of the mouth and eyes ^-^

Would I be able to do the zig-zag thing on a Kenmore machine? If so, what setting?
