4 hr experimental commission for dancergal56 of her manticore character Hize! The theme given was simply “monk things” hahaI experimented with a more simple shaped, cartoony bg for this one rather than my usual semi realistic, texture abused bgs haha. I rather like it so I might try it more!

This is amazing I love how you drew the manticore. I found out about manticores through MLP: FIM and fell in love with the species ever since. I am uncertain what mythos they are from though. Keep up the great work, hun.

I love the extra large wooden bead things (never knew what they were called). The fantasy type background looks good, glad you experimented with it a bit, though sometimes I quite like your realistic backgrounds, it really just depends on the context of what's being drawn.
The character looks cool, great job blending shades of blue/purple, the pose looks great, as does do the robes. The scorpion tail is a bit freaky, but to each is own.

The scorpion tail part comes from the fact that hes a manticore haha (they're like lion/scorpion hybrids) though it did kinda throw me off at first glance too lol
