We have been so lucky this winter, there are ~14 of them wintering in the river valley. I would guess about 1/3 of them are adult with the white head and tail, the others are immature.

I thought he was watching me as i was taking the photo, which is unusual as they don't seem to be bothered by people and I was a fair distance away. But what he was really watching was the younger, immature eagle that landed in a tree behind me, that I didn't notice until they both flew off.
