A beautiful render, I love the small details like the scar over his eye and the scuffs on his armor, very well done.

I would not be surprised if the Protoss and Zerg were inspired by them whatsoever. Originally the Aliens were bio-engineered by an alien race called the "space jockeys" (original names unknown) and eventually overran them = wiping them out. That explanes why the Aliens have that Giger-esque design like their creators did. (See the first movie again). Similarly, the Xel'Naga took already existing worm species and manipulated their DNA that allowed the Zerg to evolve to their current state (states? since they are always changing).
The Predators (Yautja to themselves) are an alien race whose science and technology evolved yet their primitive tribal concepts and cultural habits endured. Sound familiar? YES! YOU GOT THE RIGHT ANSWER! The Protoss are a more cerebral version of the Predators. Beings that evolved from religious templars rather than hunters and have well-built psionic abilities. Although it is mentioned they are great warriors as well.
Hope you enjoyed the info!
Take care!

Hot damn, really impressive. The skin really stands out, along with all the patterning along the armour.

That is just... WOW. I mean, the details and textures are just incredible! Anatomy is perfect and lighting & shadows are spot on! I love the gritty feel of it, like he's been tramping through a dusty field all day. The minor affections like the eye scar and scriptwork on his armor give it a nice personal touch.
Your Psi blades = EPIC WIN!
Blockbuster worthy, sir!

AL-Righty THEN! Some more kickass work!!! The textures are what really make this superb model shine(literally and figuratively) I end my comment by saying that you will make millions from this! But I do admit I am divided as to whether I should create armor by beveling it from the body or modeling it separately, anyhoo I am anxious to see what is next.

Looks great. I'd suggest toning down the stripes on his thighs and putting something between his hip and thigh armor--cloth, more armor, whatever.

Hey, not bad! That's some great detail and design you've created. One thing that bothers me is that the metal (and even the gems/crystals) look a bit plastic. I would suggest tweaking the materials with some additional metal reference and see if you can achieve more realism and believability in the materials.
Good stuff, keep up the work!
