Description Inspired by an unknown work I saw at the time. It was a much larger piece that had numbers of people waiting in a breadline for food during the American depression in the 1920s.
---------------------------------
This is my first (and only) venture into the use of Resin Blocks for printing. I like the ease of the cuts...the fine lines...and the detail you can achieve. I don't like the expense.

I really love the texture and feeling you get in your prints. Great stuff.

Ditto on FrauleinAngst's comments. This one DOES show your strengths. I like it. I like this type of cut/print where well-placed simple lines come together to create a form of gritty realism, for lack of better words. It's the reason I like the wood and linoleum cuts of Eli Jacobi. I'm wondering if the work of art you saw that inspired this piece was "Christ of the Breadlines", by Fritz Eichenberg....

This one is definitely showing your strength! I love all the different types of lines and that you knew just where they belonged. Really like this one (fav) I'll reference it I'm sure, as I learn.

Thanks for sharing!!

p.s. could you tell me about resin blocks if you have the time? I am curious- it is one (of perhaps many) that I haven't heard of.

Thanks for the continued comments - Resin blocks are available online ([link] ) and allow you to make precise marks and fine marks with minimal chipping or risk of removing extra material. I like the medium alot and hope to use it more in the future - I just think it is rather expensive to use while I am still learning.
