This should have been finished yesterday, a bunch of stuff came up, like it does. Anyway, it's done now, so now I can get down to some business.

Yeah, this is Arnold's horrified reaction to seeing what Helga has been hiding in her closet. Poor boy--it's a lot for his footballhead to take in all at once.

How did this happen?
Well, I figured that if Arnold was going over to Helga's house to work on a school project, then there's the possibility that during a visit he could've forgotten some of his work. He'd suddenly realize just as he was making his way back home and turn back to collect that work.

Meanwhile, Helga would retreat to her Arnold shrine now that Arnold has apparently gone home. Ya know, to squee over the fact that Arnold was in her room and also to lament over her cruelty towards him.

Within this time, Arnold have arrived back to Helga's house and rushed up her room to retrieve that work and it would appear that Helga isn't there. Until Arnold hears her muffled voice and it seems to be coming from the closet. At first he thinks that he must've imagined it and goes to leave, but he definitely hears Helga say his name. And so, Arnold goes to check out that closet. Bad idea.

Helga is just frozen to the spot, not really sure what she can say to explain away all the stuff in that room and why she seems to be holding something that resembles the boy standing in her doorway.

Arnold would make a quick apology and leave again. Yeah, and he forgot his work again since he dropped it there.

This would be another situation that these two would choose to pretend never happened and never speak of it.
