Description The black Knight emerges from the mist on his Friesian charger. Taken at Medieval Times. ,December2005. Friesian horses,my second favorite breed, are a rare but beautiful breed that comes from Holland. They were used as war mounts because they were strong enough to carry armored knights, but light enough in build to be more agile on the battlefeild than a full sized draft horse. Once they came in many colors, but the favored color was black for striking fear into the hearts of enemies. Eventually every color but black was bred out so the modern Friesian is always black. The modern Friesian excells in dressage.

I personally perfer the Andalusian mounts, they are far more noble, but I do admire Friesians. I've been to Medieval Times and I loved it.
