After a long break I finally found new inspiration to do some Japanese style Pokémon paintings! I initially wanted to just do another Lugia because it's my comfort zone Pokémon and I felt like I needed to find a more relaxed way to work on these but my sketches evolved into Shadow Lugia and thus the Abyss of the Sea was born.

I really like how this turned out and I feel like I achieved my goal with the process. I included some process shots because those are always fun to see. It has been several months since I finished this piece and I have already had this as a print at conventions. Posting on socials has felt like such a drag but I'm catching up!
