i dont have a problem for killing animals for meat but what upsets me is the way that they treat those animals on farms. By killing an animal to protect your family is not a problem! if there was a situation like that i would kill it too. Many people kill animals for sport or entertainment and that bothers me. I would want people to stop killing lots of animals becuase the food chain would go out of balance, but hunting is also needed becuase of over population.Related content

So, you'd rather an animal die and their body be used for nothing? Their death to be meaningless?
Besides, what about people who use leather? Or eat meat? Are they mean, too? Then there's gelatin, so by your logic if you've eaten a gummy bear you're also mean.
I think of fur being used in clothing as using every part of the animal. It's only respectful that the body isn't thrown away to be forgotten.

I'm fine with hunting for meat but I don't like it when people use animals as furniture or just hunt them for entertainment.

I personally don't see anything wrong with wearing fur. Shit's warm, man. What I DO have an issue with though is slaughtering a mass of animals just for their hide, and then leaving them to rot somewhere, or abusing them as useless property before only harvesting their skin/fur. I think, if you're going to use an animal's fur or skin, you better damn well use the rest of them too, or at least a good majority. I don't own anything made of real fur myself, like a coat or anything like that, but if I did, I think I'd hunt around for an old coat, that way I'm not furthering the demand for new fur and promoting the kind of conditions I'm sure you're against.

Actually, many farms do their best to make sure animals are treated as humanely and as comfortably as possible before they die. Hell, they even kill the animals as quickly and painlessly as possible.

I partly agree. Hunting for food and killing animals for food and then using their fur for clothes or other things (sheep and reindeer-skins for instance) I don't mind. It's the way of nature.
Hunting for fun or killing just because of fur though... makes me so mad >.<

I rather shoot every pig and coyote I see if it means keeping my pets and home safe. Too many people in my neighborhood have had their cats and small dogs killed (and not even eaten) by coyotes. And yes, I did pull my rifle on a pack on wild hogs that were tearing through my fence to rip my dogs in half.
Call me mean, but I think I'm rather nice for looking out for my pets and family.

First of all, how does hunting stop the fur trade? Ever heard of fur farms? Most fur clothing comes from fur farms, not hunting.
Anyways, hunting is needed, like Monster-Boar said. Does overpopulation sound good to you? Coyotes would be everywhere, killing pets and even small children. Hunting keeps their population down.
And owning fur or wearing fur... how does that make you "mean"? Some people who wear fur are snobby, rich people, but owning a part of an animal doesn't change your personality. And it isn't any more horrible then some little kid eating a hamburger. Is he "mean" too? Because he ate an animal? Maybe he isn't wearing the animal, but it doesn't matter. An animal got killed for the meat, just like an animal got killed for the fur.
Not to mention eating meat is worse then wearing fur, actually. Do you have any idea how bad the conditions are in industrial farms? And do you know how much pain the chickens, pigs, and cows must go through before they get made into hamburgers or hotdogs? Cows get killed by getting their throat cut open, chickens' beaks are almost cut off so they don't bite eachother, and the pigs live crowded together in their own waste. Yeah... just as bad, if not worse then even the most inhumane fur farms, and much, MUCH worse then hunting.
Another thing - noticed you said you like fake fur. So, even if it is fake, doesn't that still support wearing fur? It doesn't matter if it is real or fake - it still shows that wearing fur is still "in" or fashionable. So even if you don't know it, you are supporting the fur trade.

well, im not mad about how back then they killed animals to survive, but know we have other food we can rely on, but many people kill animals for sport and just get rid of them, this makes me angry becuase there was no reason for this only for their entertainment

Oh I agree that sport hunting is sick and idiotic. But if the animal is going to be used for food, then do it, and use the fur as well.
And no we don't have other food we can use. We need protein, that only meat has the right amount.
