Description just fiddling around with a new medium.

i actually -have- watercolors (I found them at the bottom of my bag) and this grandulation medium is specifically for them. instead of water, i mixed paint with that for the background. it was layering up of colors (light to dark) and the dark red spots was where i used more paint than medium.

cloak is watercolor so i could water out the stars (Let the paint dry, then go in with water to work it off again).. and she's acrylic.

whoa... too good... its so stark and intense... even though its in watercolour... which has got to be the toughest medium... great job!

it's very hard to control outside of backgrounds for me, which is why i prefer to water down gouache and acrylics

Really nice effect with that medium. I am considering checking it out. Is that what you call it -- granulation medium? And I suppose it should work with gouache, too, right?

it might.. it works best with watercolors, and worst with acrylics.. seems to pull better with no water added, though it does say 'adding water may cause other effects'

and I believe so (It's at work right now, i leave my stuff there over night) and by winsor & newton

Laura,
I like the way she so gracefully floats in the air as if it is the most natural place for one to be.
