Well My livestream session has just ended and this is what came of it, I think it's my best piece yet, it was odd having an audience as it made me make much better pieces plus they were all a joy to talk to C: Shout out to headshot, peachy, gameaddict and hulio for attending
So yeah Sonic, Tails and Knuckles in a pretty much post apocalyptic city, which I'm sure we're used to by now XD Enjoy and hopefully this is the herald of more sessions on livestream cos it is dammmmn fun.
Though I wish I could speak more, but alas I broke my mic MOMENTS before I went on air D:

for a moment it looked like something from sonic riders promotional material 8p, like the use of each characters eye colour for the streaks of energy,nice solid lines and good colours, very nice work ^^

I didn't even know about them till Heroes came out! Espio is the best. I mean, he's a ninja...and a Chameleon...who are like...the ultimate ninjas...so yeah, Chaotix rule!

This is beautiful - it's almost like a well executed caligraphy art piece (where the stokes are handled with great care and flair).
The way the action flows between Sonic, Tails and Knuckles blend beautifully with the background and textures.

If you don't mind me askin' what brush did you use to colour the BG textures? Did you have a special brush set of some sort? I'd love to know how to get that effect on the rocks.

Ahh thanks man 8D yeah the caligraphy type strokes are courtesy of Sai it's just such a smooth program to ink in, it's almost akin to flash in that area, same when colouring, I did this in photoshop but doing celshading in sai is glorious.
The background that took a number of things, I used several brushes I know are on DA so if you search around stuff like brickwall brushes etc you'll probably find something useful. So yeah the process was that I blocked out the walls and rocks in a solid base colour as you do, then using the same brickwall brush went over it once with a darker colour for the shadows then in a lighter colour for the highlights. I added graffiti by using a random logo brush and wore it down using a grunge brush for the eraser. For cracks and things I simply painted them over the results.
