[Apologies for the lack of originality, particularly Tero's name, I suck at making up names :/ xD]

Korra stood outside the cave-like home, in the height of the mountains, Tenzin by her side. Hands clenched tightly by her side, she bravely stepped forward, Tenzin following her loyally. A young boy, almost a teenager, stood there, waiting. He had dark brown eyes and black hair which hung limply on his head.
"You're looking for Toph, right?" he asked. She nodded. He smiled a bit.
"Grandmother, they're here," the boy called into the cave.
"No need to yell, Tero, I'm not that old," an old woman's voice snapped back from the interior. Korra smile slightly and Tenzin chuckled, reflecting his father's carefree nature. "Go ahead and laugh. See what I'll agree to then," the woman replied grumpily.
"I apologise," Korra immediately replied, walking slowly towards the inside of the cave, where an old woman sat in an earth-bended chair. She was a small old lady, in her late years, with long grey hair that was tied in a loose braid. Her pale green eyes remained at their feet, but both benders knew that she was well aware of their presence.
"Tenzin's here, I see. How're you, Twinkle Toes the Second?" Toph asked. The nicknames for her close friends had never died. Avatar Aang remained Twinkle Toes, his wife Katara [A/N: IT'S PROVEN] kept her title of Sugar Queen (although she slowly refrained from calling her that, particularly at important functions, but Toph never failed to remember it when they were playfully teasing each other).
"Well," Tenzin replied, smiling. Although he had not seen the woman for many years, after she ran to the mountains in distress of her husband's disappearance [A/N: I'M SORRY DX], he was still fond of her. Her youthful attitude was not as prevalent as it once was, especially as she grew older, but it had never really died, and he admired her for the crooked smile she still gave.
"So will you fight?" Korra anxiously asked. Toph looked in her general direction sceptically for a moment, before giving a crooked grin.
"I'm not that old Korra. If I have to die soon, I'd like to have died fighting," her eyes, in the dim light, shined bright, like she'd been anticipating for this moment for a very long time.
"Grandmother!" Tero cried, dismayed at the thought of losing his precious grandmother.
"It's a little thing called honour that I never let go of, Tero," Toph replied, smiling kindly at the young boy who was standing by her side.
Korra sighed a smiled. "Thank you, Master Toph. Your bravery is much appreciated." Toph waved a feeble had at her.
"None of this 'Master' business, Toph will do just fine. I was once the Blind Bandit, but no longer," she smiled sadly, "I have to accept the fact that things have changed."
Korra nodded seriously and, bowing, walked towards the exit. Tenzin walked up towards the old woman, clasped her hand for a moment, smiled a smile that wouldn't be seen, and then followed Korra out. Tero hurried after them, leaving the old woman to her own thoughts of the past.
"Aang…. Katara…. Your son has grown so much," she whispered, tears filling her eyes. "Sokka…. Zuko… Is this the world you fought for?" a tear fell down her wrinkled face, "Teo…. Thank you."
