The 2009 movie isn't... like.... good? But I love it soooo much. It was one of the moviews id just watch over and over when I was a kid and I have so much of a nostalgia pull toward it

I admit it's the 2009 movie's fault that I got into it in the first place. I watched it when visiting some family friend's house and really liked it. I then found it on Netflix like, a year or so later. But not only was that on Netflix... there was the 2003 anime. It's this hecking character/franchise that got me into anime as a whole, so it's really special to me. >v< It's mostly the 2003 anime that's special, but the older stuff is pretty good too. Of course, the 60's and 80's ones are as classic as anime can get, (the creator is literally referred to "The God Of Manga" haha) but if you don't enjoy old anime as much then it may not be for you. I guess you gotta try it out for yourself. I do highly recommend the 2003 one tho. It can get cheesy, and I suppose I may just really like it because that was my "gateway drug" to anime, but I personally think it's really good. Sorry if I rambled, I've secretly been a huge fan of Astro Boy for a very very long time and I got excited when I saw someone posted art of him. ;w;

First of all, just wanna say I love seeing people ramble about the things they enjoy!! Its very special and I dont mind at all.
I'll definitely try out the 2003 series! I've been seeing stuff for a reboot (maybe...? in the future?) and a few other series (some sort of origin for the scientists and a series called Pluto? Not sure where those factor in but they look p cool)
I'm not much for old things tbh, I just find it hard to get into the humor and whatnot, but I've definitely heard some very cool historical stuff about the creator! (And watched one of the kimba movies way back when)

Pluto is a character that appears in basically everything except for the 2009 movie, I think. I know there's a manga dedicated to him, but I haven't read it since, well, idk at the time I saw there was a manga for him, it didn't look appealing lol
I suppose I used to watch a lot of old cartoons with my family growing up so I have a soft spot for the style and humor in old cartoons and anime, but I definitely see why it may not appeal to lots of folks. The creator is a sort of inspiration of mine. It seemed like he was such a genuinely nice guy when he was alive. You can just sorta tell by the way he draws/paces the manga that he really loved his characters and put his heart and soul into them. He has a sense of humor that I appreciate haha

Atom!!! yes thats the one I was thinking of! Yea im not sure the status on the reboot stuff? but I'm hopeful!! Im guilty of not watching things unless I find them like... aesthetically pleasing? Ive been Spoilt by very well animated things haha
