Description I recently invested in some fimo. Being a sculpey fan, this was a bit of an adjustment for me, but I have to admit, it really is better for sculpting fine details! Mary is made with a combo of fimo and premo sculpey; the flowers on her bag are just dabbed on with acrylics.  I hope to vastly improve my face-sculpting skills in the future.

Nice!

Yeah, faces are a lot of fun.  I've only done a little bit with Sculpy clay (my "Little Dancer"), but faces have always been my favorite.  Tiny faces like this can be a lot harder than larger ones though!  I like the color in this one.

Thank you! I'm really excited to try more faces, I honestly wouldn't have tried this kind of thing yet if my best repeat customer hadn't commissioned it. She's always challenging me . And I just had to check out your Little Dancer, she's beautiful!

Thanks!  It takes a while to learn to sculpt the faces, but I'm sure you can learn... given enough people challenging you.

(One thing I learned with that piece is that I need to do all the clay in one color and then paint.  I tried to do the eyes and body suit with colored clay, and it did not work well.  I like the effect you've got with paints, especially on the bag and with her face.  You have a lot better control of the color. )
