Very cute. I am looking for a good fantasy book myself. I want to rekindle my love for reading that school has killed off. I am looking for something wacked out, with lot's of humor, positivity but also drama and overcomming obstacles together, which leads me into me likking character interaction, growth and change - love that! I seem to find that in one book but I can't seem to find anything else. No wacked out worlds and such.
After so many years of not reading, when I walked into a book store I was litterary lost! I got out of touch with books so much!
Anyway good to hear you are all right!
Wish you all the best, Love!

Weeeeell, that's a bit of a complicated question, right there. *laughs* Forgive me as I wax poetic.
The first book is titled, "Cinder," by Marissa Meyer. It's basically a retelling of Cinderella, and it's set after World War 4, when countries have been reorganized into general areas. Particularly as some countries were so decimated that the populations of different countries banded together to survive.
At this point they're starting to pick back up again and things are more stable, but recently a disease has been appearing all over the globe with the effectiveness of the Plague (it's called Leutomosis, I believe?). Each "country" is trying to find a cure, and it's the most pressing in the Eastern Commonwealth (Asia as a whole), where the current Emperor has the disease and is about to die.
Leaving his son, Prince Kai, to take over (he's barely 19). The Prince is also stuck dealing with the threat of the Lunars, aka a group of colonists that went to live on the Moon several generations ago and in the process developed the ability to manipulate people with something like a fairy "glamour." They can manipulate thoughts, force actions, and change people's view of them with illusion. And the Queen of the Lunars, Levana, wants to marry Kai, several decades her junior, for the sake of an "alliance" (ie under the threat of war).
Meanwhile Kai has a crush on a local mechanic, who he has asked to fix his droid, a girl named Cinder. And her biggest secret of all is that she's actually a Cyborg--part human, and part machine due to a flying hover accident when she was a child. Because Cyborgs are considered to be second-class citizens, with no rights to speak of, and "belong" to their guardians--in this case, a terrible Stepmother.
I would definitely suggest that you read the series (the later books in the series are "Scarlet" and "Cress," basically Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel, respectively). They are detailed, creative, and the characters all feel very real and original. You get lost in the story so much that you almost forgot that you're really reading a fairytale.
Mostly the reason I like them so much is because it's hard to come by well-written fairytale adaptations in a youth format that are engaging for all ages. Basically, I love books, and these ones are wonderful and high-quality. ^^
