And finally, the ringleader of my cartoonified Zoobles. While Whazzat took the most redesigns to figure her out, Mayor ben is a close second. This is actually the third version of the design I've posted online.

I went through so many iterations of his outfit, wanting a middle-ground between town mayor, circus ringleader, and stage magician like the original. Aside from being fancy tuxes, the latter two at least had the gold frills for some visual flair; the only really defining aspect of a stereotypical "mayor" is the sash that was also part of Vereen's original costume. But with all the other details - from the frilly shoulder pads, to the lapels, the buttons, the chest floor, and everything - I thought it seemed a bit obstructive if made too big, and too awkward to display writing on it if it was too small. A button with the title worn on the lapel also looked off to me for similar reasons. Then I learned that some mayors wear medallions around the neck bearing the town or city emblem. Not only did this add a little extra to the neck and chest area that would've otherwise just been a solid mass of periwinkle fluff, but it felt fitting for the magical town leader to possess a gold medallion.

The eyes were the biggest point of contention for me. I went back and forth on multiple shades, tints, and combinations of colors that would stand out against his purple face without repeating an eye color from another character. (I'd basically reserved all the purple in the characters' color schemes for him, lol.) I also wanted them to look like they bear an extra sense of magic to them, with a subtle glow to the pupils. If I ever were to get critical feedback, I'd be willing to play around with the colors again.
