December 21st 2012; The last day of the Mayan calendar. It states that the world will overcome a change like it has many times before. Many believed it signified the end of the world. These people were only half right.

A medieval cult, called the Knights of the Red Moon, was the first to discover the meaning of the final day of the Mayan calendar. They predicted that the world would end when the moon shone blood red. Needless to say they were right.

The cult survived through the centuries, even up until modern day. Like the name implied they were knights through and through. Each of them wore a full set of armor and a blood red cape. The modern day armor was special though. It was made of a lightweight titanium alloy, and the inside of the suit was completely lined with Kevlar. Each member was practically invincible.

There was one and only one leader of the cult, even though they were spread throughout the world. A man named Lucas Black. His armor was unique from the others; it was more complex and was engraved with ancient Latin text and symbols from many ancient societies. His helmet had horns like a great bull, symbolizing his dominance over other cult members.

Outside of the cult however, Lucas was a computer programmer, and one of the world’s deadliest hackers. His followers worked in all of the government agencies all over the world, and so he was completely protected.

On December 21st 2012, just as the Knights had predicted, the moon shone throughout the sky as red as blood. They took this opportunity. This is what they were destined for. All the members working in the government gave their leader full clearance and protection. Using a computer in a disclosed location their leader took control of every nuclear device throughout the world, and had the power to launch them at a moments notice.

Lucas Black and the Knights of the Red Moon now had complete control of the planet. Using threats of launching nuclear weapons they were able to force every country established in the world to surrender. They had won, and the world had indeed ended. It would forever be changed to whatever the Knights wished.

Every world leader was gathered into the Knights’ main headquarters. Each leader was lined up, and a cult member was assigned to each one. They drew their swords and thrust them into the hearts of the world leaders.

The world fell into anarchy, and order and reason on earth were abolished as a result of the actions of the Knights. In the center between all of the continents, a large artificial island was placed and chained to the sea floor. And a new headquarters was built on that very island.

Construction lasted almost five years. The Knights had built a grand castle that reached to the height of the clouds. It was fit for the new ruler and king of the earth.

Lucas rid himself of his old pitiful name. He was no longer just a leader of the world’s most massive cult. He was the supreme overlord of the entire planet. Lucas adopted the name Lord Garland. A fitting name, in his own opinion, of his new status.

This is the story of his reign of terror.
