Everyone seemed to like my other Fox and James drawing So much that I couldn't help but draw another. I've had this a while but I just dug it out again and said "Oh yeah, I did draw that. I should show the world!"I haven't decided as to why Fox is crying but it sure looks dramatic. Go ahead and tell me what you think is happening but...
NO Nasty Stuff!
They are a Father and Son, with love of a normal father-son relationship. There is NO, No, NO Slash/pedofile, whatever you wanna call it, stuff about this.
So with that said, give me your ideas for the scenario of this dramatic scene!
EDIT: If you've ever seen the original you'll realize I have improved it. Original version located in scraps.

I agree with other people. It makes the most sense that James is leaving and Fox doesn't want him to go. I wouldn't say he's afraid he'll never see his dad again. How would he know? But if James has been there the whole time, Fox wouldn't understand why he has to leave. Hell, you could even work in the element that Fox wants to go too. All his life, his dad has told him about space and flying. He's dreamt about it and he adores his father. Now he has to watch him leave and do something they previously bonded on without him.

I don't recall where but I heard the reason James always wore sunglasses was because his natural eyes had been replaced with glowing red cyber-optic implants and he constantly worried that if a younger Fox had seen him with those eyes it would scare him.

It would be really cool if they finally told us what happened to James and if he is still alive in the next Starfox game for the Wii U coming out in 2015. Me personally, I think James is still alive out there somewhere.

well lets see, considering Fox's age and is tears in eyes, the setting, James Shades in a time of day in which they would have no use what-so ever.....I conclude that This is the beginning of the Lyat wars, and James is telling Fox that he is heading off to fight, and Fox is scared he wont return. (The look in the face in both of them confirms this.)

No Prob, James is not gone though, He has simply been away, watching Fox become the great leader he is now.
(Proof: After Beating Andross in StarFox 64, following the end of the tunnel from an explosion, Fox's Arwing can be seen going straight up, but before his shows, another can be seen going right off-screen. (3DS Remakes Confirms this). Other Time is in StarFox Adventures, by unlock-able quests one of the rewards is a message for Fox from James. There are other times James Returns, example in the DS StarFox Command and the Gamecube StarFox Assault, however its hard to say if they were really returns.)

Maybe Fox is crying because his dad just got assigned on a mission to head to venom to take on Andross and is afraid he'll never see his dad again. Sadly Fox was right to think his dad wouldn't make it out alive.

Maybe this is the last time they see each other? Fox doesn't want his father to go, but James tries to assure him that he'll be back soon, although deep inside he does have the hunch that things might go awry.

I know. The term "Mini-fic" is my own term. It's short for "Miniature Fanfic", but what I do is not just a regular fanfic. They ARE "miniature"(sometimes), but I add plz icons and dialogue to make it seem more of like a comic.

So this is when his mom died? By the way, why do they never mention his mom and what was her name? It just seemed to me like Fox was always an orphan and that his team is the only family he has. Plus it seems like an insult to always mention his father but not his mother.

Fox's mom was named Vixy Reinard McCloud. She was mentioned in the 1993 Nintendo Power comic. It is known she died very early in Fox's life and that he was raised by his father, James. However, if you're only observing the video game cannon: James McCloud is Fox's only parent that is ever mentioned in the games. Therefore, most fans assume the appearance of Only James McCloud indicates him as a widower and Fox's sole/remaining parent. Hope this helps.

Great work, I really like your shading. You could have the reason for Fox crying being his reaction to his mom's death from the car bomb. At least that's what I thought of when I saw this.

Aaw, cute.~ It looks sort of like he's being scared by really huge fireworks or a huge ship took off and suprised him. James is calmly watching in a "I'm used to it." kind of way.~
Still, widdle Fox is adorable. :3 I love how you drew him here. xD
