Flew to Austin for the Zelda Symphony and got all inspired to make a thing. now ENJOY THE THING. I have a migraine and a plane to catch in an hour. Any mistakes will remain mistakes until I get around to fixin em. The clouds look stupidmishmushed elements from the manga and Skyword sword. His cape thingy is awesome.

That grainy texture, is that simply an overlay? I've always wondered how people achieve it, I like the look of it.

Whoops, sorry for the late answer - I just take a texture, reduce the saturation either all the way or almost all the way, depending on weather or not I'm feeling too lazy to throw on a photo filter - then I set it to overlay or soft light. More often than not I end up turning down the opacity of each texture layer. So usually there are about 2-4 texture layers C:\

Oohh, I love the expressiveness in the Loftwing's posturing. His outstretched talons and the piercing look in his eye - specifically. Great job! And of course, the execution is lovely! I love all the little brushstrokes in it's feathers. :3

Umm, I started using Photoshop with a mouse around 6th grade and at the end of 6th grade I started using a tablet more. I didn't get a 'good' tablet until 7-8 grade? I used to suck, I'm serious. But I promise you digital painting will make a whole lot more sense if you fool around will oil paint or acrylic first or at the same time. It really, really helped me to do landscape painting. And as much as I loathe setting it up and cleaning it up and braving bugs and heat, it made my art look way better. Thanks~ C:>

Thanks so much for the advice! Every time a ask some of the DA artists (with your high level of skill) they never really give me an answer, so thanks for taking the time to do that for me...I really appreciate it!
I have done quite a few paintings in water colour... but never acrylic or oil paint...I shall try one tho! (I have some oil paints).
And another question (if you don't mind. I seem to ask a lot of questions, sorry) Did you take a digital art class? cuz I am seriously considering taking a class
