Oh man! This commment, this is just...the best! So much kindness in one area! I think my head might explode! lol

I loooooove the books, I've read them over and over again. I've stalled with The Slab now to be honest though I've read it once before but I've reastarted it 3 times now and not made it through a second time, I'd read all the other books 3 times in a row before it came out lol I think there just isn't enough Baird for me! That one line you mentioned though, boy did it bring a smile to my face the first time I read the book ^.^ "That's my Baird!" I said! lol

I want Pad as a DLC Multiplayer character so so so bad! He is my number one pick for added characters lol how he hasn't made it yet, I don't know because he is one of the best book exclusive characters! I had actually played the 3 games before I knew there were books but I snatched them up and devoured them quick when I found out, Bernie's appearance became way more important to me afterwards. I was much more pleased with Anya's transition to gear too, and was happy to get some backing on Sam. I'll go ahead and say I am not a SamXBaird shipper though I like loner Baird, I think he works best like that. I think it's nice to have a character that isn't so fixated on romance and whatnot. Plus she wanted to be with Dom! Baird is nobody's second choice!!! lol (I don't like to share either lol)

I have played judgment! Beat it...three times I think? Hardcore, Insane and then a speed run on normal lol It was a little lacking but I mean, more Baird is never a bad thing and the multiplayer is hella fun, I prefer co-op modes it's one of the few games I'll jump online with

Baird really really shined in the books for me. He was already my favorite but I felt like he was the author's favorite too, and she created Bernie to be there for him, you know? Bernie feels like her OC to me don't we all wish we could get our OCs in Anyways, she just made Baird everything we knew he was underneath, yeah he's an asshole through and through but that doesn't mean he isn't a good person too! And expanding upon his and Cole's friendship was so great! Especially how they met, "he pulled me out of the shit" hahahaha just so awesome! I didn't like Judgment Baird so much, as the book's author had kinda shown Baird to always be, well, Baird even early on (due to his mother a lot it seems). But the game seemed to want him to be Marcus jr, which he isn't and does not need to be. Man the books are so good lol I just need to put the slab up and go back to the original four because I love them so much, so many good moments! I did love however, in Judgment Paduk(who is more like Baird than Baird) is a Gorasnyan and he has that Russian-y accent, which is how I always imagined the Gorasnyans! In the 3rd one when you hear Trescu on the comm and he sounds like he is from the middle east I was soooo bummed! I was like whatever, they still have Russian accents in my head it made sense though, immulsion is fuel and we fight with the middle east over it so Glad it was changed in Judgment though lol Yanick is another pick I'd love to see in a game lol

I really want to redo this pic, it was a quick doodle one day and I never bothered to come back to it I worked really hard on my Aye Aye Asshole pic though, I've continually gone back to improve upon it and recently got the urge to go fix it again so maybe it's time to update this pic as well! There are quite a few book moments I'd love to do and you may have just inspired me to pull out the old tablet and get back to work ^.^

Don't apologize for the long comment it's nice to finally talk to someone else who's just as much a Gear head as me ^^ haha it was the opposite for me I had borrowed the book off my friend since he said it was "boring" but I immediately got caught up in it with Baird, Bernie and Dom as my top three faves. I played the games after but that only made me love it more ^^

I don't ship Baird x Sam either, most of the pics of them I like is because of how Baird looks xD I only ship him with Cole as a bromance ;D haha and yes!!! I was wondering why they haven't done Pad yet!! I would love for him to be in the games that would be too awesome especially since I've been wanting a super awesome sniper besides Paduk since he won't chill with the COG soldiers anymore~ I really don't blame him though.

He really was awesome in Judgement XD I love his sarcasm.OMB what if he's Baird's UIR clone?!!! And I thought that too XD I call them the "Russians" XD My roomies think I should stick to UIR but I told them that if they have the Russian accent, weapons that look Russian, that they are Russians XD Especially since you'd figure the COG is the U.S.A that instantly makes UIR Russia XP hehe back to Paduk, I was so sad after the Aftermath I really wanted Paduk to stick around. My favorite quote from him was:

Paduk: I never said the boat was in water.
Carmine: Can we have your chopper?!
Paduk: No! (The look on his face at this moment is priceless xD)

I also like when he tells Loomis "Never" then when him and Cole are talking about the wine cellar xD Oh so many great moments~

I have some solid respect for Bernie, she's my all time favorite Gear girl. I love have everyone has a wary respect for her she's just that awesome (after all 26th Royal Tyran Infantry is only made of the best ). The way I see the family is with Bernie and Hoffman as mommy and daddy, Marcus and Tai as the older brothers,
Dom as the cousin who's more of a brother, Pad as the uncle you see once every five years, Jace and the Carmine's as the young neighborhood kids, Baird and Cole as the best friends who are really like family, Anya as the daughter in law anybody would love to have, and Sam as the tom-boy girl who comes to play~ XD Wow that sounds all topsy turvy XD

I'm glad to have made your month I can definitely say you've made mine ^^ Today has been too awesome~!!! I can't wait to see your work~ You're seriously one of my favorite artists. I really think you capture Baird's personality really well. Well, until the next reply~

Dude some of the pairings are so bizarre in the fan universe! I agree with you, only with Cole as a bromance! I was quite stunned to see people ship MarcusXBaird lol but then I heard something about a BairdXAnya shipping and I was like...Baird and Marucs makes more sense than that pairing!!! lol I don't like when people change a character's orientation or personality either

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to imagine them with Russian accents, they are totally Russians! Ultra Intelligent Russians...UIR tada! lol Paduk was such a good character, I really wish Baird had been more Baird but oh man, aftermath, talk about a heart breaker! Sophia! So thrilled they didn't put her with Baird btw lol that would have broke the game for me I love his animosity for women lol he comes by it honestly! And I don't know about you but I hate Alex Brand I feel like the author of the books dislikes her and it comes through Bernie and that automatically made me get all mama bear with her lol I do love her and Baird interacting though, that whole mooning scene in the book, one of my favorite moments hahaha

Speaking of Alex have you read the comics? I bought one set but I didn't like them, particularity the one with her. I'm to believe these half naked sluts fend off locust on a daily basis? What do they attack them with, their unusually large boobies?! Plus they made Baird a HUGE out of character asshole and then had him apologize to Alex! Just rawr lol RAWR.

Bernie is my fave gear girl too! Tied with Gill Gettner though, I love her so much I wish she'd been one of the ravens, that survived, in the games lol More honorable wants for a game, Matheison, I know I am spelling these names all wrong lol Bai Tak. I loved them all! I really want to see red haired blue swirly tatooed freckle faced Pad though

I love your family description! I see Baird's famiy as just these guys though, they are friends with everyone but these are the people he couldn't do without ^.^ and Hoffman may be more of a Dom/Marcus thing but Bernie makes him a big part of the family.

Man I want to read the books again, just thinking of all my fave moments Anvil Gate and Coalitions End have to be my faves, Baird's intro in Anvil Gate, oh man, just so Baird!

I played the games in order and the gap between two and three really had me wtf-ing lol once I read the books I was like oh man, this makes so much more sense lol esp the whole Prescott thing. He seemed so cool in the second game too! Bummer. I hate him with a passion now

part. When I was playing I seriously just felt like I was playing Horde all the time. I was all, okay, they're only a few days into the emergence why aren't they still panicking about the Locusts, where are the people, etc. I think they were really just in a rush with this one and didn't really give us the satisfaction we wanted.


About the books, Coalition's End was actually the first one I read Thanks to that I got a whole lot of Baird which really helped with my being a fan of his. That's also what made me love Bernie. Oh and Gettner XD I would love to see her in the games. I can already picture her there in her chopper ready to go at any moment. If they brought her into the game maybe they'd give you the choice of flying her Raven I would wanna fly a Raven into battle dang it~!!! Maybe they'd even give us a glimpse of the COG's facilities where they trained the rookies ^_^ Oh what I wouldn't give to be playing as Dom or Marcus being taught how to skin a animal by Bernie XD

O.O I've never heard of Marcus x Baird or Baird x Anya. But, then again I've never explored Baird pairings xD I've been way too scared from looking at other character pairings from my other fandoms to know that most of the pairings I find will be crack or something similar. I don't like it when characters I know already have someone or if they're preferably alone are paired with someone else for a fangirl fantasy. I don't mind sometimes if the artwork involved in some cases shows the characters to look really cool but I'll ignore the romance part completely in those cases.

When people change the characters orientation it starts to get annoying. To me it's like me taking some random person, deciding they'd make a great gay guy to go with my bestie, I'd magically make them gay even if I know their straight as a ruler then put them in a room with said bestie and use them as my puppets for some unrealistic fantasy. Yeah...I'd say in most cases it annoys me XD

And yeah, Hoffman, Bernie and Cole are certainly Baird's family through and through the family I was talking about was more the entire thingy (if that makes sense) rather than just Baird's immediate family ^_^ Gosh This pic still rules XD It's almost like the way I pictured it when I first read the books. Those are the scenes that look good in the imagination and even better painted/drawn out.

OMG What if it was Gears but with an rpg element, we customize a gear, go through academy and get to serve as ourselves! I'd love a tragic Carmine worthy ending depending on which era it was(to explain the absence of our awesome in post Eday games lol and I want a friggin embry star), and the only bad thing about rpgs are the usual lack of voice which makes for a lame ending but oh man! You have me totally psyched at the possibilities! The core fandom would probably cry foul but that sounds amazing to me.

Pendulum wars would be awesome! The whole crew, and I'm talking Prof Fenix, Helena Stroud, Bernie Mataki, Pre-Col Hoffman, I can't remember how old Pad is but I'm thinking he could be in this crew and Bai Tak! OH! Back to the rpg, we could have different races, defected UIR, Islanders, Tyrans! Someone needs to do this. Not to mention choosing classes to level up and such...someone make this! Or am I crazy?

The only thing wrong with a pendulum era game, no Cole or Baird lol but there is always multiplayer and dlc lol speaking of DLC so ticked at Judgment for allowing me to buy skins and then changing my color to red or blue...wtf! I wanted to be purple! If I wanted to be red or blue I would have bought those! Poor move PCF, poor move. At least let me wear it in game! Plus I mean, I know which team I'm on, I'm not stupid!!! Luckily I haven't seen very many coupling pictures, aside from SamXBaird, which I still don't care for lol but a friend told me the horrors of the other ships I'm pretty wary of searching for anything where fanart is these days lol The first time I ever saw a crack coupling, I didn't even know what it was. I really liked Dizzy's daughters as well! And the way Sam was a role model to them, everyone needs to regroup at Anvil Gate and start taking Sera back! Like I said, still want to see Matheison, Gettner and Pad in a game, c'mon DLC! Part of me wonders if we'll even get another game, I honestly thought gears 3 wrapped it up nicely, though I still think a free roam stranded VS gears world would be interesting...add that rpg element again and you could play AS stranded...but anyways! Yeah, I thought when the gears club announced Judgment with Baird as the lead that they were lying to me I literally said to my comp "Why would you break my heart like that?!" and then I died from excitement lol they missed the mark but still glad to have it. You just can't hate a game with a chainsaw gun and Damon Baird, just not possible

It is fate my friend! You know Yu Yu Hakusho One of my favorite animes ever lol a classic. I don't watch much anime anymore, tend to just rewatch my faves The older I get the more I just enjoy the same things over and over

I don't know what they will do with the gears franchise but I hope they wait a bit, at least till the next gen is out a while. I don't want Gears to end up like Assassin's Creed, when they announced black flag I sighed. A game announcement should not illicit a sigh from a long time fan! I'm just so over that series right now, just sick of it lol although I know I will buy black flag bc I mean c'mon, pirate assassin (I wanted it to be ninjas dangit!) but I was really looking forward to a break from the series.

I do like the multiplayer of judgment but I miss horde, I'm hoping for a horde dlc, no classes, just building and defending! I enjoy survival but man is it hard =[ if you play public you are put on hardcore immediately lol maybe if they'd let us rebuild the fortifications between rounds like horde but no dice. I think overrun is my fave, being the locust is so much fun!

I totally want to pitch a gears rpg!

Did you ever play skyrim? I am getting pretty excited for the mmorpg they are coming out with for it...unless it is computer only...then I will cry T.T I game mostly on my xbox.

What do you think about the next gen so far? I am looking forward to hearing about the steambox personally lol a new face in the gaming industry ^.^ if it works like the comp then it will get almost all the games! Boo exclusives I will end up with all three, ps4, nextbox and a steam box before it's said and done but I am not getting anything until at least a year after it's been released. Too many bugs coming out of the gate usually, not to mention not a lot of games and overpriced

Haha it is fate indeed ^_^ I love Yu Yu Hakusho it's one of my top animes of all times. XD I understand that's how I am with my everyday cartoons I can't stand newer shows they show I usually just go online and surf for older shows that I know by heart. Most of the stuff they have now a days just reminds me of older stuff I watched and I lose interest quickly. Like, with anime, two weeks ago my friend introduced me to an anime called Uta no Prince Sama 1000% (If I remember it right XD <- lost so much interest she forgot the name lol)But it reminded me of this other anime my other friend had showed me about eight to nine months earlier. They were just too similar for my liking I made it to episode 4 before giving up. The episodes and plot line were just too damn similar. I'd prefer watching Corda D'Oro than Uta.


I can't stand watching stuff like that ya know? I find myself starting so many old stuff over and over again it isn't funny xD I've reached as far back as Digimon and Pokemon, even Sailor Moon for pete's sake xDDD

Haha we were just talking about AC yesterday too xD we were talking about how awesome it would've been if they had done like, Egyptian, Romans, Vikings, Samurai's and the works XD so many things, so many possibilities!!!(once again xD) Ninja would be awesome O: I can totally picture that!!! They're really rushing it :/ With 1, brotherhood, 2, 3, and so on, I think they've been putting out too many games at once. They should slow down and work hard to blow our minds :3

I miss horde too I try beasting in Survival but it's hard to communicate when people in public don't have their headsets on xD Then, I usually prefer to be Sofia (I'm a medic at heart.) so it's frustrating when everyone goes to only one side to defend
and I'm alone or with one person on the other side and we both die with the blockaides break down. Then everyone gets there late and we get overrun or when I'm the only medic and they're all super split up they get pissed when I can only save some and not all -.- gahhhh too many survival probs man too many XD (For some reason, in nearly all the survives I've been in people seem to favor Baird XD we had 4 in my last match and I had to die and come back as Cole so that we'd have ammo but then we didn't have a medic xD)

overrun is fun!! What's your favorite Locust? I like being a ticker, a kantus and the serapede xD


I haven't played Skyrim yet but it's on my list of must play games~

lol! No worries! I know what you mean about TV today, I have a few things I dvr: Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, New Girl, Psych, Archer, Tosh.0. And I watch a few things when they are on, Adventure Time and Regular, etc. but mostly I use Netflix for finding series. It's actually how I got turned onto Walking Dead and Once Upon a Time, both just tremendously good shows.

It also houses a lot of my favorite old animes, Samurai Champloo, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, just to name a few. I have Samurai Champloo and bluray now though loooove that series. How is Cowboy Bebop not on Netlix??? I also LOVED Bleach at first but after they rescued Rukia I lost total interest I bought that whole saga and watch it over and over again but other than that I don't keep up anymore.

Another lesser known fave anime of mine is Gokusen, totally ridiculous and suggestive and foul language but I just love it! lol the whole series is on 3 dvds lol it is a quick watch. There was a second set but they changed almost all the characters (it's a high school) so I haven't bothered with it yet lol

I know what you mean!!! On survival!!! I usually wait for everyone to pick then take whatever is left. I like being Baird, he's my pref, at first to help with fortifications but I switch to Cole or Paduk once things start getting hairy. And if no one else is a medic or we seem like we need more than one I will hop in as one ^.^ I try not to pigeonhole my choice but Baird is my fave lol love that turret and shotty.

My favorite locust is the wretch lol I cannot tell you how many times I've sneaked into their base and effed up the ehole almost all the way bc they were too busy defending the sides to notice a little wretchy climb in it is a sound strategy and it only works a few times a match but I do major damage when it happens. Second would be a ticker, gets the job done, and messily

Oh Skyrim is great! It's good you waited, the Game of the year edition is coming out soon, with all the DLC. It'll be 60 still but you get the three DLCs packaged in so that is cool. I may get it when it gets cheap so I can clear up so harddrive space lol not that I need it but hoping the game would run smoother off just the disk.

With AC, they have split into so many different teams that they have so many games being worked on they can release them frequently, but that doesn't make it a good thing. It's time for a break you guys, seriously. The last one the present storyline did nothing but tick me off. I enjoyed Conor thoroughly though, feel like his convictions are the best of the crew. My fave assassin has to be Malik though oh mr. grumpy one arm lol

lol Gokusen is ridiculous so don't judge me too hard! But I love the teacher on the show and just the goofy dynamic and camaraderie among the boys, I don't have a good reason! lol it's not groundbreaking stuff

Skyrim is fun! I know lots of ways to break the game, but you have to be invested lol grinding is a must if you get your Alchemy, enchanting and smithing all the way to 100 and put the right perks in, you can make outfits to level up all your magic w/o using any mana you can have two magics on one outfit or just one magic per outfit. The most beneficial part is having an outfit with three things of destruction on it, well four technically but the armor can hold two destruction enchantments so three, anyways then you can use your fire/lightening/ice to your hearts content for NO MAGICKA! Plus your weapons never have to be fed soul gems lol when you get into the game this will make way more sense

KHR is Katekyo Hitman Reborn. It's an anime/manga about this boy getting trained to be the 10th Vongola Mafia boss and I love it to death XD the show gets realllllllyyy crazy sometimes though XD


O: HIGH FIVE FOR PLAYSTATION!!!! Haha, the ps2 is my favorite console (mainly because of FF and Kingdom Hearts among other games) but the X-Box (which I only started playing last year) is 2nd XD...because of Gears and Assassin's Creed xD

I started Gokusen Live Action which is like the drama version of Gokusen~ Sawada and Uchiyama (if I remember) Are my two favorites so far~
I find Sawada's indifferent attitude amusing and Uchi's protection of that puppy endearing ^_^
and Yankumi is too awesome I love how the guy she likes is a police officer just her luck xD She's just boss. I'd love to have someone like her as a teacher ^_^

I can't remember his name (He's only shown up like 4 times at this point, and I'm too busy focusing on how she's trying to cover over her use of mafia words xD)
but he's a police officer and shows some interest in her over the nurse lady and the other teacher lady xD YAY!!! Shin is my absolute favorite character so far, but over all it's an enjoyable show <3 I should be starting episodes 5 and 6 today of the live action ^_^

long answer elaborates! lol yes Baird is a little smaller than the other gears, not in height really but more in buffness? he is more the brains, one of the smartest people left alive, but he is still badass at the brawn stuff too

now in the picture he looks particularly miniscule partly due to the fact that he is surrounded by two of the buffest gears around, Colonel Victor Hoffman and The Cole Train but it's mostly due in part to my absolute laziness and lack of skillZ lol

I started out with just heads and arms but that seemed creepy so I added torsos and didn't really allot enough room for all that and Baird is supposed to be crouched down or hunched over lol but meh I didn't even give him armor, just shaded his torso gray bwahahaha lol

but lazy picture is lazy! lol it landed somewhere between stylized chibi and realistic? Amateur cartoon perhaps? lol

I rather like the dog though

Not too random! For about 26 dollars I got the GOW season pass and I get any and all DLC for gears 3, it was a great steal! I imagine there won't be any more now that Judgment has been announced though I've gotten an add-on and tons of extra characters, including a mechanic Baird! Not to mention purple skins for my guns, that alone was worth it lol.

Hmmmm that is a tricky one lol I'm thinking in terms of live-action, probably would be too hard, where would they find buff enough guys O.o? lol but if they did an animated one, we'd just want to play it I'd prefer animated for the sake of the voices lol I couldn't think of a single person I'd want to see as my gears! lol But I would want a movie they should make the books into movies Then they'd have everyone!

The main four plus all our favorite minor-major characters, the hoff and bernie, and the book specific characters such as Pad and the Gorasnyans lol I can dream!

I think a live action movie would be cool, but the looks and voices of the characters may bug me a bit. A few actor references [link] and [link] and this was pretty interesting [link]
I think an animated movie would be great but too much like the games maybe. I'd like to see the main guys in the movie, and characters from the book that didn't have a bigger part in the games, like Bernie of course. Definitely Sam cos I think she's pretty cool and funny. There are a few scenes in the books that would be good in a movie like when Dom and Marcus are at school growing up, to show the background of the characters a bit more.

I'm on my second read through now lol I do miss my Baird though they do have a nod at him which made me smile, something about a mouthy blonde kid in cole train's squad but Reeve made up for it =] I'd like to see him too! I love all the books I've read the others all twice but the slab will always be one behind as I'm rereading them in chronological order now lol

omg! I lol'ed so hard at some of those! Jeff Bridges in duel roles, yes! lol and most of those are great picks! However I disagree with both Bairds those guys are way too pretty boy-ish and while Ryan Reynolds is great eye candy and all I don't usually like him in movies! lol I'd like someone with a rougher face and even rougher tongue I honestly can't think of anyone, so I guess I can't speak I prefer unknowns. I love Scarlett Jo as Anya though, that is pretty spot on, she is a versatile lady! But no Reynolds and No walker We'd need a badass lady to play Bernie! It'd be cool to have Cole as Cole ^.^ hmmm wracking my brains on a Baird...I'd have to look at a list and pick from someone elses I suppose! Just like the Uncharted Movie that has yet to be made Love Mark Wahlberg but Nathan Drake he ain't actors can surprise us though...

Among Thieves(2) is the best of the three lol I have played that game more than any other game I own, except maybe re4 those two are my all time favorites ^.^ If you ever get a ps3, those are the 3 I recommend you buy first annnnnd so jealous! The vita! I wanted it purely for the uncharted lol but it's just to expensive!

Yeah don't get me wrong I do like the Rock to, but like you said, Marcus he aint. To be fair if you watch the hour and a half of cut scenes from Gears 3, it's like a movie lol.
The vita is his not mine, but I could play on it I guess. I haven't played a huge amount of games, I used to have a PlayStation 1 back in the day and loved Tomb raider and Abes oddessy lol. Then we got the xbox about 2006 and I didn't play that much on it. Then last September when Rich (my fiancée) bought Gears 3 I watched him play it for like 5 hours straight He told me he had the first book son the very next day I started reading, and playing the first game and thats when I fell completely in love with the gears of war universe. Now as well as the games we already had, I have all 5 books, the comics, a pair of cog tags, a Gears of War 3 Xbox controller, 4 action figures and this lovely statue [link] I think Rich thinks I'm a bit obsessed Since that got me back into video games, theres so much I wanna play. I started with the Halo series which is great, but I'm finding it hard. I've been playing Red Faction Armageddon which I quite enjoy, and I just bought Bulletstorm, which is awesome so far. I really want to play the Mass Effect series, and Lost Planet looks pretty good to.
I havent played Resident evil but I have seen some of the movies. Sorry for rambling on for so long lol

Haha I have the Baird action figure, plus my bear-d bobble-head, cog tags and a portion of my bulletin board is Baird specific Oh and I got the gears poster with all four manly men on it The rest of my bulletin board is uncharted and Re4 and a few odds and ends, polar bears and httyd and princess bell

I didn't care for the comics! I felt like those were less true to the characters, the books felt really true and more in depth I think I'd rather watch or read, not do both lol if that makes sense. I love comics on their own but maybe I just didn't like the writing hated the Barren story arc lol

I cannot wait for the new tomb raider, have you seen previews? It looks so amazing! And so thrilled Lara is as slutted up as usual lol she is drop dead gorgeous, the cinematics are going to be awesome!
