Description I woke up early and left the house before anyone was awake. I climbed into the Porsche, dropped the top, and headed for the Santa Cruz Mountains. Thirty minutes later I was sipping coffee on the patio of Alice's Restaurant in Woodside, watching the last remnants of fog dissolve into the blue sky and the sequoias .

I thought maybe I should take Highway 84 and head for the coast.

So I did.

"You can get anything you want... at Alice's Restaurant!"
The PCA often organizes coffee runs like this, there's something about a group of Porsche cars running through the woods at 7am when no one's around and then telling stories about the one that (almost) got away (from you) around some great coffee.
The car looks great btw

Thanks Martin. I used the wide angle to diminish the effects of the dust I'd collected.
I still got to get off my butt and join the PCA.

You can sign up online. I'd recommend doing it before your next scheduled maintenance, most places will give you 10% off with a PCA card, at least on parts. As well, when my buddy found that the local Porsche dealer wouldn't honour a recall on his older Porsche a few years ago, the PCA stepped in and convinced them to make it work.

Sounds like a great trip, and a nice little spontaneous adventure
This looks like it really is a lovely place in this image as well as the other in the set. Gotta love that classic summer-y bold greens and blues.
Great how the sky and trees reflect off the car

You have an eye for the details, that's another reason I appreciate you. I plan on taking another one of these "adventures" soon.

There really is an "Alice's Restaurant"? The one from the Arlo Gutherie song?

"Alice's Restaurant" recounts Guthrie's true, but comically exaggerated, Thanksgiving Day adventure as a satirical, deadpan protest against the Vietnam War draft.
Full story on Wikipedia [link]

The song actually refers to a church in Massachusetts that was purchased by a woman named Alice. She and her husband moved in to the place and made it their home back in 1964.

So the answer to your question is no. The Alice's Restaurant [link] near my home is a rustic mountain diner located on the crossroads of Highways 35 and 84 in Woodside, California.

Now that you said it is in Massachusetts, I remember.
I should have remembered that, but getting old is hell.
We used to play that album on Thanksgiving. (The fact I said album, tells you it was back aways)

Hard to count the number of times I've done that . . . Always an awesome feeling when you have 9/Skyline all to yourself, without moto-Squids buzzing past you to get "racetimes" and "practice laps" in.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. Gonna do it again, soon.
