The bison literally barged their way into the area where all of us were viewing the hot springs.  It was quite exciting and a great opportunity to capture some photos up close.

Definitely.  There were people all over the place, and a couple of park rangers - but there wasn't much anyone could do except get out of the way.

I was more excited than anything else.  I was thinking, I've got a very short time to get some photos before these animals move on.  At the same time I'm trying to crop people out and hoping to get a natural background, etc.

The good news is that the Bison herds are growing in healthy numbers now.  Conservation efforts are paying off at last.
