Description
My entry for art jam "The Most epic thing you can imagine"Try to listen to some epic metal like Dominion when you look at this as it adds to it.
PS cs4 and lots of blood, sweat, and more blood.
EDIT: HOLY SMOKES! thank you everyone for the overwhelming response. I had a number of people ask for this as a print so ask and you shall receive. I think its pretty much every type of print you can get too haha.

I just noticed that DAs prints are pretty costly and spoke with a company around me that will do bigger posters for prolly a lil cheaper and 11X17 prints of this (so they will fit in small places!) are available for 10.00 each plus shipping to wherever you live. Note me and Ill get you more info.

okay so i must start this critique by saying this probably IS the most epic thing ive ever seen, lol.
i wasn't going to crit this since i couldnt really see much that was bugging me. the blurr effect is GENIUS because it shows action and intensity, the blood effects: pretty much flawless.
the only big thing i noticed was that the shark only has one row of teeth. in real life, most sharks have 5 to 15 rows of teeth in each jaw. unlike human teeth, shark teeth don't have roots to hold them in place, so their teeth are easily broken off. A tooth usually lasts about a week before it falls out, then the tooth behind it moves up to replace it. you dont have to add 14 more rows of teeth, probably just two more rows of smaller teeth behind the one you already have would be enough to give the illusion of more rows.
the other thing you MIGHT want to do, though it's only a small suggestion, is to add a little more of a splash around the shark to show even more action and momentum.

I agree with you totally, and thanks for the crit. I have a tweaked version I worked on a while ago and gave the shark some wicked teeth, so it looks like a monster. I just havent uploaded it yet, after all this calms down I will do that.

I spotted this early this morning, a tiny thumbnail in my DD ticker tape along the bottom of my screen and my heart began to beat faster... Finally, something from the far side of someone's imagination... someone daring to take the viewer on a terrifying journey...
The title hails back to the MTV generation of a celebrity deathmatch type scenario where the only confines, aside from the boxing ring ropes, were the limits of the animators imagination. This is a brave and powerful image, striking awe and fear into the viewers' hearts. This artist has no limit to his imagination, knows no boundaries and takes great relish in exhibiting an image that will excite, shock and beguile the viewer. In one word, this IS epic.
The composition is perfect - from the gaping jaws and swirling blood red waters to the arc of gore from the viking's wielded axe. Smooth, clear and beautifully proportioned, the detail in the shark is beautiful... the wet skin, like rubber; the dead black eye and the rolled back lip exposing the rows of bloody saw-like razor sharp teeth. The detail in the viking - stoically holding on and seemingly berserk in his frenzied attack - the helmet gleaming, and the muscle shown in his forearms... perfect.
I have awarded FULL MARKS for each category. I have not seen anything quite so radical and adrenalin fuelled in quite some time. This is visionary, original and unquestionably memorable. The artists technique is unsurpassable. And as for impact... well... like I said at the beginning - it made my heart beat faster as a rush of adrenalin flooded my veins. It looks amazing FULL VIEW size and the artist should be selling prints of this. It's a phenomenal piece of art!

Here is a high level of action, and it makes us very nervous. The impact of the determination of the wiking, belonging to the pirate crews from among the Northmen, who plundered the coasts of Europe in the eighth, ninth, and tenth centuries, has a crucial expression, which should be in an art work. The shark is displayed very professional and lights on it are bringing the shark into the life. There is a blur part of the picture has a precious role on the composition, therefore it is pretty easy that we can focus on where the action starts and finishes. The artsit of this art work has brought us a thing which is about history that we forgot. Brilliant, Cheers!

This is something that might have actually happened in real life...some viking traveling from Denmark to raid some poor church gets knocked overboard, and manages to grab his axe just in time to whack Jaws in the head.
