My first finished paid comission. This is a Quater Horse gelding named Zipper that my friend owned, so she asked me to do a portrait of him. She always refers to him as the Love of Her Life and so here he is. He was gorgeous from what I saw of the reference photos, and was built like a fickin TANK (with a muscled ass that dwarfed every other quarter I've ever seen). This is a scan of a photocopy, so it's a bit darker than the original. I still have three other drawings to do for her.Eight hours of working with prismacolor pencils.

Why thank you! (bows) My own prismas were a gift from my mom, so I was lucky in that aspect. Last time I checked a single pencil was $1.25 apiece . . . which sucks.

I say, I didn't know that was possible with colored pencil. The attention to detail is extraordinary, and you've obviously got the anatomy nailed down better than most. I'm no art critic; I'm sure there are areas you could have done better, but it's past me to find them!
