Description
Back when we were doing photography at uni (hope we get to do more) I got to use darkrooms and the such to make those good old black and white films. But to make such good pictures its often to do with good composition. Nevertheless I had a little picture I had wanted to set up in mind and did one of my Invader Zim figurine of Dib looking out into the misty void from beyond my bedroom of spooky doom. There were a few blotches so I wouldn't say this is the best quality as it was my first in a long time with this. But it was nothing a little emergency photo blemish repairing couldn't fix.When I remember the name of the camera I used I'll edit this description.

Well, I like it!!
The thumbnail made this look like a pencil drawing, so I figured I'd take a closer look. And when I saw it close up, I was really impressed! The overexposure (if that's what it is) gives it a fantastically otherworldly atmosphere, one which invites the viewer to speculate on what IS out there that we cannot explain.
Your use of photography suggests that you are taking Dib's musings seriously, something this Dib fan appreciates to no end.
I've been on dA tonight for far longer than I intended... in search of something GOOD... and have unavoidably seen far too many thumbnails of productions flung up by people who have nothing better to do than encourage and glorify venomous and unfathomed hatred of poor would-be hero Dib. I can't understand this; I can't recall any other fictional character who happened to be a CHILD whose misfortunes people gloated over more.
I've rambled for too long, so I'll log out on a happy note. Thanks for a lovely reward for all that wading through a cold, mucky swamp of Dib hatred.

First, thank you very much. Thatb was very thorough and indepth. Yes I am very much a Dib fan. And this was in my mind for a while as I went over the basics of using black and white photography. How could I not try it out?
Secondly, I do think it's a shame many people out there must hate Dib. Or at least, that's what I hear. I haven't actually seen any anti-Dibs here on DA but I think, considering what seems to be the audiences opinions on the tv show, perhaps they take the character too seriously. I dunno. But I respect that to each their own. I remember some had apparently complained that he was too whiney. But I think that was the point to him. That he'd lament/whine over the fact no one would listen to him, or were just completely stupid. Ok, he probably has his own faults. Well, he's a character in his own right so he would, but the point is was that to some people who liked him (and me and perhaps you) it's perhaps that, not only does he seem appropriate to the show. He's funny, and you can relate to him. I feel.
Theres a little bit of Dib in all of us. And maybe, perhaps Zim. Who doesn't feel like being a little big-headed and random some times?
Still, to each their own. Doesn't matter what character you may like from a series. Everyone is allowed their own personal opinion. Just as long as theres no silly immature flaming/preaching/nagging about it.
Heheh, besides, I think Dib was Jhonen's favourite character too. Unless I'm wrong.

You haven't seen any anti-Dibs on dA? You've been luckier than me. Believe me, not only are they here but I can't seem to avoid encountering their thumbnails and comments.
Dib so rarely had anybody onscreen with him who would actually listen to him that allowing him to talk aloud was the only way the writers could let the viewer know what he was thinking.
Dib has faults, yes. But to me, Gaz is a collection of nothing else BUT faults... selfish, spite-filled, unforgiving, etc etc... yet I've got all I can do to find even one other person who doesn't think she's just darling.... That, more than anything else, is what baffles me about this series.
While he also likes JTHM, yes, Jhonen was Dib's favorite character from the series, and the one he identified with most. I don't blame him one bit for using N!ck's name as a curse word these days. After insisting that Dib be portrayed as a pathetic laughingstock, they THEN cancelled the series before giving Dib a chance to accomplish anything!

This is really very nice. I love the dirty texture to the whole image, the lighting with this black and white image really work well. Hugely successful piece.

I'm not sure if they've stopped making them either. I was informed at my local FP that they would receive a final batch and that was it. But since then I've seen a few coming in. Zim sells quickly though, heheh obviously.
