Sweet MaidenCoffin of glass
Slumbering under the apple boughs,
Waiting for the one
Who will wake you with his kiss.
How I long to be that one--
To set my lips against yours
And gaze into your open eyes...
but...
....what if I'm not the one?
What if my touch
Leaves you cold and unmoving?
That would be too terrible to bear
I'm much too scared of that reality
To take the chance...
So instead
I gaze down at your perfect face
I take the bite that seals my fate
My eyelids fall
Darkness closes in
And I slowly slip away
Into a dreamland where we will be together
....always together...
Angsty poetry time! This is my entry for s contest.
I think the instrumental piece "Dearly Beloved--reprise" from Kingdom Hearts goes really well with this picture...
