This is a gift for Wishingstarinajar, for the birthday of her OC Alys. The other character is Viviane, my own OC.
So, Wish, I’ve actually been one of your watchers for a year. I found this gallery when I was trying to find a picture of Joris to show one of my friends how he looked like.
Back then, I hadn’t drawn anything for almost five years. While watching your drawings, I found the motivation to go back to drawing and I’ve gone back to it for almost a year, now.
I’ve always thought that I’d stay a ‘’shadow watcher’’, as I’m too awkward to post anything or even interact with anyone on the net. However, when I saw that you were having quite a bad time these last months, I decided to draw you something in order, I hope, to cheer you up a little.
So, here you go ! You’re a huge inspiration to me. Thank you for everything you do !
I am not sure yet if I’ll ever have the nerves to post anything else, but feel free to give some criticism or ask questions if you want to.
Also, once again, I never thought I’d ever post something so I’ve never bothered figuring out how deviantart actually works. If I’ve somehow done a mistake while uploading this, please let me now what and how to fix it.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m probably gonna go hide under my bed in foetal position.

Hey there, this is so incredibly sweet of you. Reading your description sure gave me some feels and because you were honest in writing it, I'll be honest too.
You have skill, Shelter, you show the capability to become an amazing artist some day, if you also let yourself and be a little more confident of what you're capable of. I think that sharing your art would help with building up some of that confidence you need to improve and grow, but I won't force you to do this because I know how scary it can be. I've been in that spot too.
Please don't give up or think your art isn't worth it. It is worth something. It made me smile looking at it, I admired Viviane's design (her cute little boots and smile) and felt a little awe for including a fully done and colored background, which also stays true to the office's design. You've been paying attention to the little bits of information I've trickled out, and it shows in this drawing and the written interaction you wrote. That's quite an honor.

I am planning to start posting more of these. If I haven't been drawing for a very long time, I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen, and I'm eager to start sharing my ideas.
I'm looking forward to it, honestly. I also hope I'll be able to interact with you and the other people in the fandom more. I have a job so I won't be able to be here very often or post a lot, but I'll do my best to put my anxiety aside and be a little more social from now on.

It would be nice to see more of you, for sure. But do it on your own pace; there is no rush.
I'm sure you will though. Follow other fans, comment and fav their work, join any groups there might be (and you also want to join) and so forth. You don't have to extremely active to establish some connections. This fandom is very open and also welcoming, as long as you put some effort in showing your face and give it some time. There are many shy and anxious people in this fandom, most of us know how you feel, so don't worry! You're among kindred spirits.
