My tribute to the impossibly awesome Penn & Teller
Photoshop CS5
This was done over about 2 weeks- just picking at it in between work, commissions and my free time.
Airbrush, Dodge/Burn tool for detail and Sharpen/Blur tool for finishing touches!
Also with the help of Photoshop Skin texture brushes!
References- Initially inspired by this photo: [link] . I ended up "Frankensteining" a whole bunch of other reference pics together to make this!

Both are odious.
I even wrote to the TV network that they are NOT welcome in my town and they were NOT to even suggest that they stage their crap at MY house.
The TV special that turned me off them had a version of a magic show I used to do in chemistry lectures at my college. I was a tech. It was - liquid oxygen.
They,by sleight of hand, seemingly froze a live mouse solid -and then smashed it to chips ! Teller also seemingly froze his hand and then knocked it off ! The version I was trained to do had neither sick stuff.
That tried my patience ! At the end Teller drowned in a tank of water and remained dead as the end credits rolled. Within a day or two I mailed a letter to the network denouncing these jokers. I have never watched them since.

They played members of the Witches Council, I believe. I think one of them was one of her aunts' ex-boyfriend too.

This is amazing. Do you have any recommendations for photoshop brushes? I'm just getting into digital art and experimenting with new skin brushes and resources.

Some great brushes I use are these:
[link] is great selection by Dan Luvisi, and a similar set by Rahll: [link] which have some nice skin brushes. And Nathie has a wonderful selection for more "scenery" type stuff [link]
Other than that and some other random skin texture brushes I've picked up around the web, I still generally favor the "Hard Round Airbrush" that comes in all versions of Photoshop

This is probably the world's n00best question, but what's the difference between the airbrush and the paintbrush?

You know...I never really thought about that
Personally, I never got the category on here called "Paintings and Airbrushings". Technically, a digital painting is a painting, no matter what brush you use haha.
The "Paint brush" is the actual tool itself- like the Pen Tool, Magic Wand Tool, Eraser... and then you have the "Paint Brush".
"Airbrush" is just a brush type (or setting) that works with a varying opacity and value. It can have that really soft, fuzzy edge (like a real, literal air brush), or there is the alternate that I prefer which has a hard edge, but works in accordance with my WACOM pen pressure, and imitates the effect of a really soft blend
