Just got done re-reading this comic, I hope you decide to come back to it someday, I love all the Eri related stills and short comics, but as Pinkie Pie might say I extra-super-duper love this particular comic, it has great world-building, in-depth characters, and plenty of giggles and feels.Β
On that note, going off of the other comments here, I hope your health is better than it was last November, and to assure you that as a dedicated watcher (yes I still have your note on how you feel about fans) that I will not judge you harshly for something out of your control, Real life always trumps fan-created content (although I would be lying if I said I didn't occasionally wish it otherwise) but anywho, I am a pretty average-joe sort of guy and I always try and make sure that when I give comments to creators that they know that I know that while I enjoy their stories and art, and occasionally give advice or opinions on how I think a story should go, that I am not the sole recipient of their work, it is up to them to decide their pacing and other details, my only beef is with creators who ditch a project (this is particularly present in the fimfiction) and just up and vanish without so much as a short note saying "this is a dead fic, ciao". And as I see multiple comments here and those you have made in response to me directly, I know this is not the case with you.Β
Best of luck to you with any and all future endeavors.Β
Your watcher and internet friend (if you don't mind),

Hehe, thanks. It's nice to be reminded it's not all in vain. It often feels like I struggle so much over this childish "draw cartoons that I don't even own" and it doesn't even mean much in the end. Maybe it only matters to me. Then I better do something that also matters to me but is more useful.
I probably mentioned all the problems with going on with the comic. Not only it's a huge difference in style now, I'm sure. There were delays before like Watermark 7 to 8 , you can even see the different color, even though I use the same gradients. Somehow I forget about small details and it looks ugly as a result. And with my life style my skill went half up and how down. I draw some things better, other things worse. It will yell once uploaded.
And... it's such a weird moment. I have a quite uncommon element in the next pages that may annoy the readers. Pretty much experimenting on the original. It would be awfully difficult to do back then and it's like jumping over a mountain now. Impossible, even though I'll try. And fail. And ruin the story. And people will say it's all because of this hiatus even though it's been planned years ago.
Plus I'm sure now that there are many more fics and comics, I'd inevitably repeat someone else's idea. With the same "he took 2 years to steal from NAMEHERE, boo!" screams.
And I knew I'd face that all if I don't continue right away. And I couldn't. And had to watch the boulder going down all the way into the valley. The funny thing is I started this comic to have an excuse to draw Eri more, to develop her. And now everything else is meant for practice and getting me ready for the comic. The irony.
And as I said, sometimes it feels like it's too childish to spend so much time on it. A grown up man drawing ponies that even kids don't care about anymore. The hype has passed. Like Peter Pan, finding out Wendy has grandchildren now. (yeah, referencing Hook with Robin Williams)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a grown man who likes ponies (being one myself) and while it is true that the fandom has plateaued and not as active as it was during the first few seasons 2010-2014 or thereabouts, the most common sentiment I have found on Facebook, and many other social media sites is that even after the show ends here in just under a month (geez feels kind of sudden when stated outright), is that the show and its messages will always live on in our hearts.Β
As for the stealing argument, frankly, it is overused and typically by people who just like making noise, now I know that there are less scrupulous types who trace existing work and try to pan it off as their own, but I don't see that with you, and stealing ideas or tropes is just ridiculous If that was actually a thing, then fan-work most likely wouldn't exist period, heck we'd still most likely be in the dark ages because you cannot have progress if you cannot take existing ideas and improve on them.Β
The only thing you can do is always strive to improve your work. So try not to be too hard on yourself if you don't always get it exactly as good as you think it should be (I know you said in one of your comments that it is not perfection you seek)but your toughest critic will always be yourself, and you will only ruin the story and truly fail if you give up or try and please the unpleasable trolls and "True Fans" and the like. Your everyday joe type watchers (such as myself) will always appreciate your work and no matter how down you might feel, won't abandon you because it took too long, or you goofed upon such and such details.Β As I mentioned before, I might not always say it and heaven knows I could get better at being patient, and sometimes give feedback that comes out harsher in retrospect (it often sounds better in my head), but anything worth doing is worth taking your time on, and real-life always trumps fan-generated content, and This show and fandom has helped me improve myself and now I can say honestly that I would much rather you stop drawing Eri altogether than burn yourself out, or worse, as some artists I have seen in the past, struggle so hard and feel like they always fail that they end up getting full-on depression. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be sad to see you go, but like with the show, I am glad to have been able to watch it and grow as a person these past three-ish years.Β
In short, Keep Calm and Pony On!

I just recently manage to find your art and I can't express how I absolutely adore the work you put into this. I love Eri's tale, I read it from tbe beginning to this chapter and I'm greatly invested with it.
You are an inspiration, your artwork is so expressive an alive, I want to see more of this comic or any of your future planned work ^^

Oh haha, nah, I am actually fine with a text of wall. I genuinely curious want to know why the comic takes a very long hiatus, and seems like the problem you have isn't exactly something I am unfamiliar with.
Well, I just want to say I do enjoy the story you made with this comic, either it will be continued or not, I leave that to you. I just found your comic today when I was browsing on derpibooru (and suffered a very serious art block with mine, so I thought, maybe looking at other people's art will help) and stumbled on your comic.Β
It's a nice read - actually even something that got me actually invested in reading after god knows how long has it been. I also really like your art, the character feels expressive and alive, something that ticks me when I looked at my own and realized I don't know anything about how to make a character looks... real and thriving.Β
Anything on the future, I wish you for the best Fingers crossed that you maaaaybe you can have a workaround that help you to continue this wonderful comic ^^

...so little Teddy-bear said "someone was playing Minecraft and formatted my disc E!".
And mama-bear said "someone was drawing in Photoshop and formatted my disc D!".
And big papa-bear said "someone was downloading Win 10 updates and formatted all the disc C! Who did that?!".
Eri woke up and squeaked "I did it! I'm sorry, I took a little nap but now half a year has passed and I don't know why am I talking to a bunch of bears".
So she went home and made a carrot pie and lived happily ever after. =3

Nice work, Eri is a good example of a well made OC, while certainly not the happiest OC I've ever seen, she just seems to breathe her own life rather than being a sterile drawing or a shameless copy/paste with a different color scheme. I am truly glad to have discovered this fandom, it has so much variety and wonderful people and talented artists. Keep up the good work

Wow, things went really deep real fast This latest strip provides quite some interesting food for thought and the emotion level grows and grow until it's almost through the roof towards the end: I dare anyone who has read the comic not to feel awfully sorry for Eri Plus I believe we can all relate to that kind of fear, which is probably the worst fear of the human being: being alone. Still, maybe there's the possibility Lisa is wrong, and Whisper belongs to a different Shard species, a rare one she has never encountered in her many researches, or that Eri put so much of herself in her mouse friend, that she eventually managed to modify his nature and make him become something else. Mm, yeah, I realize it's pretty unlikely, but an italian poem says "Hope is the last to die", so I guess we'll just have to wait and see
Brilliant job on the technical aspect! There are several details my mind even struggles to recognize as traditional art, like the writing when Eri says "No! It's not true!!! He's real!" Can't wait to see more!

Poor filly, what a realization to be hit with after all this time.Β Maybe some good will come of it, and she'll no longer be forced (supposedly) to jump off dams anymore.
